Recently picked up my 812 Superfast from my local shop (Excell Racing) after some extensive modifications and upgrades. When I purchased the 812 I was looking for something I could drive every day. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort and drivability, but quickly became a bit bored with it. My first Ferrari was about to be my last. I was almost at the point that I wanted to get rid of it just as quickly as I purchased it, but I let the shop do their thing to see if it would change my mind about the car. To my surprise, the car has now literally come to life. I am beyond impressed with the exhaust note (it is seriously unmatched) and the power is astonishing! We all know the car has 789 hp at the crank from the factory. The baseline pull on the dyno produced 633 whp so it's certainly no slouch. However, after installing the race pipes and tuning the car, it achieved 726 whp (about 900 hp at the crank). I can't even begin to explain how insane this thing sounds on the road. The 6.5L screams! The power difference is also very noticeable and so enjoyable.

In addition to the above, I installed 21/22" HRE S104SC wheels wrapped in Michelin P4S tires. To complete the look, I had the shop install a set of Novitec springs. I'm thrilled with the finished product and love how it drives.

Let me know what you think!

Sitting that low, still comfortable as a daily driver?

Can't speak to him, but my 812 is just about as low and I drive it basically daily. I don't have any issues with it, and I felt like the car rode better. Front lift required though.

Yes! As surprising as this may sound, the new springs actually make the drive more comfortable.

Completely agree! And yes... Front lift is an absolute must when having the car this low.

Thank you! I will try my best to get some clips uploaded. Feel free to see my IG @ChaseZimmerman for some content without the wait. :D

I am curious how they managed to get 100HP extra out of an already very efficient NA engine. Even Ferrari could only get 30 extra HP with the Competizione, and that's with some pretty radical changes such as lifters, and at the cost of lower torque. I understand the Competizione is road legal, while this is not, but still, 100hp?

Honestly, that's a great question. This shop has been my go-to for over 10 years so I have stopped really asking a lot of questions. I just drop my cars off and pick them up. Lol! I am curious as well and will try to find out. With that said, it is a ton of hp to find within a naturally aspirated engine.

Thank you! It's highly addictive!

Even more impressive that photo looks like it's a Mustang dyno and not a Dynojet. I can tell you with the F12 the tune and race pipe really planted me harder in the seat. FWIW, I spoke to the tuner and I'm assuming the 812 is similar to the F12 in that they tune the car from the factory insanely pig rich. Leaning the car out gives you a bit more power. Search my posts, instead of dyno graphs I used the clock to see the power gains. The 60-130 MPH improved a good amount over stock...a GOOD amount!

OP, congrats on the exhaust! I remember you're the SoFla guy with all the other cool rides! I felt the F12 was good stock but underwhelming. Now, it's a monster! How's lowering it on your typical Florida roads and shopping plazas and speed bumps with clearance? FYI, exhaust, lower, and rims isn't "heavily modifying" :p:D

Yeah, I agree completely! And you are absolutely correct, especially considering the fact that we have zero emissions tests here in FL, we are able to really push the boundaries. When you compare what Ferrari has to do to pass emissions globally, it significantly reduces the power that could be achieved.

Thank you, I appreciate it. My 812 is an awakened beast now with the mods. Every single one of my cars is lowered so I don't really have any complaints and the streets here are all straight and flat so no issues there either. Car does have front end lift, but I have not even needed it to clear small speed bumps or slight inclines / declines. And I doubt anyone is supercharging / twin turboing their 812 so I will consider this heavily modifying, especially in Ferrari world! :p

I only let Excell Racing tune my vehicles. They tune every vehicle individually. Never just a plug and play.

As I mentioned above, it's all custom by Excell Racing.

Well, having a 2013 F12 for a few years, with those "rock hard" leaf style seats with seemingly no cushioning, I was hoping my "new to me" 2018 812 SF would have a little more upholstery in the seats, but to no avail. It's the only thing I dislike about Ferraris.....seats are too damn hard.

It's actually funny you say that. The only complaint I had about the car after owning it for a while was the comfort of the seats. I had the sport seats and took the car on a rally and man was it uncomfortable after a while. I don't feel that way about any of my other cars.

With the F12, what I did was buy a color coordinated bath towel and use that as a extra bottom cushion on the seat. Didn't look thaaat bad!

Now, After 9 months with the 812SF, I am probably going to do the same thing. Sigh.....But I still really like the car!

I've found that Enzo and CS seats are wonderfully cushioned and thus swapped them into most of my cars.
