I've got a carbon cup holder that replaced the oem cigarette lighter, as well as the racambi cigarette adapter so I can plug my gps in still. Problem is, when I turn the 360's headlights on, the power to the adapter goes off and the garmin does not receive power. Turning the headlights off and the power goes back to the GPS fine. I don't think it always did this, is this normal?

sounds like the cigarette lighter is wired up wrong.... The ground wire is hooked to the illumination and not ground so when the lights are off there is a ground and once the lights are turned on there is 12v not ground...

That's exactly what it was, problem fixed in 2 minutes, thanks Scott!

Next question, is there some way to configure it so that the power to the cigarette lighter adapter is turned off when the car turns off so that I don't need to unplug the GPS every time I turn the car off?

Yes, you can get key power from the power mirror switch in the center console ....

Great, I'll look into this. Can I simply hook the power mirror power cables into the adapter to power the GPS (and auto turn off when I pull out the key) and then hook the power mirror switch up to the original cigarette lighter power cables? So long as somebody isn't in there adjusting mirrors for a couple days while the car is off, the battery should be much safer with this setup ;).

if you want to you can do that.... I usually install a relay that is triggered by the power mirror harness and switches the constant 12v supply from the cigarette lighter so the lighter socket's power is still using the stock fuse/supply..
