When talking to the F dealer about various potential costs should something go wrong (DCT, roof, …), he mentioned that owners should be aware that changing a bulb in a Cali (and other models) is not possible, the full headlight needs to be changed, leading to a cost of $8,000 for just one headlight in a Cali!! $8,000 just because a bulb would not work!?!

Curious in case something happens in the future: did you change a bulb before (headlight), did you have to order a new headlight just for a bulb? $8,000?

That appears to be incorrect. The high/low beams are replaceable, and the bulbs cost about $100 at AutoZone.

Now, I have heard that the little jewel lamps can come loose, and that repair is difficult because the headlamp assembly is not designed to come apart. But there are folks who specialize in repairing those, an internet search will locate them. Not cheap, but you don't have to buy a new assembly. See https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/how-to-get-access-to-the-front-light-assembly.531169/ for discussion of the problem.

In Europe at least, it is a legal requirement for headlight bulbs to be replaceable without special tools.

Interesting. Are you sure? I doubt Ferrari manufactures 2 different kinds of headlight systems, one for Europe and one for the United States. Therefore bulbs should be easily replaceable if European regulations existed ($8,000 for an official dealer to change 2 bulbs/dismantling the headlight and putting back a brand new one = totally absurd and scandalous ), but it seems it’s not the case here in the U.S. Owners have to go to independents to change bulbs!
