I have an f430 spider with now 33000 miles.
I would like to keep it always.do you guys think it would be best buying a spare engine now for future or wait till its needed (thinking it might be hard to find later)

The engine's are reasonably reliable - certainly more than everything attached to them. Spare engine parts are readily available and quite cheap (for Ferrari). I don't think you need to worry about a replacement engine. There are 430's out there with over 100k and still going strong.

Regular servicing and warming up the engine before using it fully are the best things you can do.

no reason to buy a new engine - you can always rebuilt it. unless you plan on living 200 years or something

if you did buy the engine it could end up sitting for 5-10 years and this may cause further problems to the replacement...

Your engine could outlast you. How many miles do you put on a year?
You can always rebuild it too, should something catastrophic happen.
Best bet would be to simply take care of the car and maintain it well so that you decrease the chances of something like that ever happening.
    I also have an F430 spider with about 32,700 miles...red and 2007.
What year is yours and what color?

Solid engine. I ran into a Apple employee who had a Bugatti blue(if there is such a color) F430 that he tracked. He had 85,000 miles on the car. Sure he had worn and replaced parts but he felt the engine was very solid.
Don't worry by the time your car needs parts you will be 3-D printing them at home when needed.

If you have after market manifolds then your engine should be safe

Define aftermarket manifold. Do you mean headers?

You don't need after market headers - just replace with Ferrari

If you take care of the engine you now have in the car it would then be your kid's problem.
    Know what I mean?

It's amazing how the 'forever' car can so quickly be cast away for the next wonderful thing that hits you out the blue. It's happened to me - I planned on keeping the current car for ever, then I see something I hadn't thought of before but it ticks even more boxes, it's affordable and bam - out with the old, in with the new...

So be careful, the human mind is fickle....

As long as you're on top of the maintenance required for the car, and some preventative - you won't have to worry.

f1 module and exhaust manifolds are what you may have to replace

No way should you buy a spare engine (for many reasons, most of which are mentioned already).

Along with what everyone else is saying, do a used engine oil analysis after every oil change (I use Blackstone Labs). That will give you some insight into what components, if any, are wearing excessively. That could allow you to pull the engine and rebuild it BEFORE something catastrophic happens.

This is my business and I am going to disagree with everyone here. If you really want to keep it a long time by the time the engine is tired (and it will not be as long as everyone is predicting) what few parts are still available will be very expensive. Sure, they can be made but at even greater expense. I have had a few clients over the years that did that exact thing and not a single one ever considered it a mistake. In some cases the spare was sold of later for a large profit. I had a client with an engine and gear box. Still has the gear box and has been offered huge sums for it.
