I signed up for a Verizon bundle that was supposed to include phone service & dsl internet for $49.99/month. So far in 4 billing periods not ONE of my bills has been anywhere near the agreed price (latest one for $92.73).

I've called each time to have them fix the billing & they have assured it would not happen again. This time, instead of calling, I sent off an email to customer support & they are telling me the 1.0 Mbps dsl I signed up for is not available in my area & they are going to be charging me MORE for 768K - so they are looking to give me lesser service at greater price than I agreed.

This step I'd like to find the number or email address of someone at Verizon who can just get me the service I contracted for at the price I agreed to. Next step will be looking for a lawyer who wants to make a crapload of money in a class action suit (since I'm quite certain there are plenty of others in the same boat)...

So - anybody have a good contact?

    Thanks much in advance!

    David S.

yes, change services. I hate verizon and won't give them a penny of my money. The only time i got any satisfaction from them was when i overnighted a letter to the president of the company at the time. Guaranteed to end up on his desk. He had his flunkie call me the next day to patch things up. Didn't last to long though.

Try contacting and complaining to your State agency that regulates and oversees telecom utilities.
One phone call or email from them will likely get Verizon's immediate attention (at the highest executive level).
You might get a personal phone call from Verizon to work out your problem, faster than you think possible.
Anyway, worth a try (it worked for me a few years ago :) ).

    Dave,

When i lived in Asheville i had Verizon DSL while i had 3Mbs service it was constantly going down on me. The worst part i had dealing with them was talking to the Indian clods on there support lines. I found that if i kept demanding to talk to a supervisor then asking that super for there super i would finaly get to talk to some one that understood English and could get something done. When i moved from Asheville to here i thought i could get away from Verizon but low and behold i have to deal with them here also:(

How about going into a Verizon store? It's a pain, but it sounds like what you are dealing with is already a pain.

Here is what you do (was suggested above)

There is a telecom regulatory agency. File a complaint with them.

Also file a complaint with the attorney general.

And file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Get receipts or confirmations or something of each filing.

Put it together in an envelope along with a *polite* letter explaining the situation. Do not ask for a specific resolution, just tell them that when they are ready to have someone fix this WHO IS ABLE TO FIX IT, to call you.

Send that with a registered delivery service like UPS/FedEx.

I guarantee you get a call within 24 hours of their receipt.

I had a similar situation with Sprint PCS. They were applying my payments to someone *elses* account with the same last name who lived in a city I used to live in. Then I'd get a 30-day late notice, or my phone would just get shut off. Must have happened 4-5 times. Each time I complained and set it right, until the next month.

When I got a copy of my annual credit report and saw a few 30-day lates from Sprint PCS, I lost it. I did all of the above. I got a call from the VP of the "executive support department", whatever that is. She was utterly professional, sincerely apologetic, and what's more she *fixed all* the problems. Removed the items from my credit file, cancelled all the late payments and balances, and they gave me 3 months free service to boot.

Main thing is be professional and polite... you will get satisfaction. Forget the dorks at the customer service line, they aren't paid enough to care, and even if they were, they're not empowered to fix your problem.

I honestly doubt the clowns working at their stores would know any better. They just sell the phones, and are just trying to make their commission, and aren't that great at it.

When I had them I bought a Motorola that was defective. I called for an exchange and they sent me the new phone with the mailing label to return the old one. A week later the second one went kaput so I did it again and the third one was OK. My next bill was for $1200, representing all three phones at full price. (I was to be getting them discounted after signing a contract). The said they never got the two back and asked me for the tracking number of the label they provided, which was nonexistent (US Mail first class). Every month I called to complain and every month, after telling my story to a few nimrods, a supervisor would supposedly fix the problem, tell me they'd be monitoring my account and give me their direct number to call if it the fix didn't work. Every month the charges would reappear and the number didn't work. Finally, someone mistakenly gave me some VP's number and he actually did fix the problem and comped me the phone that eventually worked for my trouble.

    6 months!

PS, If I still had that dude's number I'd post it, sorry.

I'm a senior sales rep for Verizon Wireless but we are a totally seperate division. Good luck with your trouble. Taking it to management is your best bet.

I will take that as a general opinion but every sales rep is different as is every store. I've been with the company for almost 5 years and this clown has done pretty good at it.

Some have a few more tricks up their sleeves. ;)

It is a general opinion, as most of the cell phone stores I've been to, the workers there can't answer my question or throw me to the side.

If you or any guys got any cellular questions feel free to shoot them my way. If I don't know the answer I got plenty of contacts who willl. It is a pretty crazy business and there is always questions out there sales reps will not know myself included. We usually get several hundred a day and the majority are pretty repetitive things. However there is always that one guy who has the wild random problem that can take a few hours or days. Thankfully......I'm off tomorrow:)

Here is a new number for reaching the Verizon Wireless Executive offices: 908-306-6750. 910-794-6232 for Lisa Williams, Executive Customer Relations, still works, as does a general executive office inline, 910-794-6200.
