Thankfully sounds like no one was hurt, but still sucks seeing someone lose their possessions like that. Hopefully insurance won't push back or short change them on the losses. Seems like a cool neighbor with those toys.

No injuries. I’m out of town. Wife woke and saw the flames, called 911, then ran over and woke the neighbors up. All the fire dept could do was ensure their house and neighbors hangar on other side did not catch.

Wife said neighbor mentioned it may have been his RV. Not sure what or how. FD has been there all day investigating.

Which airpark do you live on? I've been considering building a home on an airpark.

    Sorry about the neighbor's loss.

    Wow! Sorry to hear that.

I have lots of stuff on battery chargers in my hangar... almost everything in there, in fact. I haven't heard of them starting fires, though.

If an RV started it, there are all kinds of sources for starting a fire and propane and likely gasoline tanks for really getting it going.

Man, that's the fear, no? When a neighborhood house burned here years back, the owner said he preferred losing the house over his hanger. I'm thinking of adding fire protection to mine but $$

A friend lost their home from a "garage fire" when their Lincoln caught fire after it had been parked for a while. If I remember, the car caught fire from the cruise control elex that never shut off. At the time, they lived in rural Kansas and by the time the fire dept. could get there they had lost everything.

There's serious design problems with RV refrigerators and next in line are the transfer switches. I found charred wires in my transfer switch and replaced the frig with a residential unit after seeing pictures of burnt wood around the exhaust and campers going up in flames. Not enough information gets out to RVers. Shoddy builds on new models. Real sorry for the loss.
