I'll package one up for you :)
Hey guys, I supply Chris with the CST pedals for his simulator. I am also an FC member. I was surprised when Chris found me here! You can usually find me in the 348 section. I have a 348TS. Chris and I have worked together for several years now. Great stuff. If you get a chance to try out one of his simulators, do so. It is a blast. Just not after lunch! Thanks, Todd
Hey Chris, I'm in the market for a system for me but also for my son. His Mom & Grandmoms will kill me if I put him in go kart racing so a good sim would be ideal for him to learn on safely. Can you play iRacing on your system ? Thanks
You bet! We even have an F-Chat iRacing league here that we race in: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315492 BTW, I tried calling you back from the info you left on our contact form, but the phone number was disconnected. I did email you back instead.
Yes, there are a few different ones in the various simulation software packages we install. I'm sure there is. I've never looked. Most series don't distinguish between ages. How old is your kid?
He's just 18 months but I want to get him started asap He liked playing racing video games, I realize it will be a few years until he really gets it
Oh ok. I put my son on my lap and he's about the same age. In about 2 years I figure he could reach the pedals. He really does love it though! He's always asking to drive
We set up a GT5 demonstrator (playseat + GT5 + wheel etc.) and there were two kids. One was 5, the other 8. Neither really understood the concept of gas + brakes, or steering to besides the ability to steer into walls.. Not saying it's impossible for kids to learn young, but I think its extremely difficult for kids who haven't ever driven some sort of kid quad or something.
I liked playing games like Midtown Madness 2 (with car hacks, inserting different car files to have a Ferrari instead of the cars they have in game) and used a wheel. When I first learned how to drive, it really felt natural. There were a few different things, not the steering and gas+braking felt like riding a bicycle after years, you just know how to do it.
I never drove a manual gearbox until I owned my first car @ 18... but it was natural for me as I had been riding quads and motorcycles since I was 11 years old with hand operated clutches, and straight cut gears operated by my foot.
