They are not even remotely close....Elton is an f2 driver compared to Michael and other great drivers.

And yet. Lewis has more of the good records than all but one other driver in the entire history of the sport--and is closing in on having more than any other driver.
Agree. Alonso only has 2 titles. Senna only has 3 titles. Is Hamilton ''clearly'' better than either? No Gilles has no titles. Neither does Alesi....Was Jacques Villeneuve was so much better than either? Sometimes the car has a LOT more to say than the driver in winning a title. A leper would've won the title in the 2014, 15, 16, 17 and 19 car.
Well, in that case, the same could be said about Schumacher, who benefited from a blatantly cheating team at Benetton, unsporting tactics on the track ignored by the FIA, then a superior car at Ferrari, and helped by subservient team mates instructed to let him win. What's good for the goose is good for the gander !!!
Subservient team mates - such as Bottas ? The difference through Hamilton's Mercedes dominance is there are several other drivers as fast as him. In Michael's time there was only Hakkinnen, who was unavailable - and they enjoyed some fantastic scraps together. 2000 in particular, epic battles, clean racing, the McLaren was still the better car and Mika drove his socks off. So did Michael. Today, Ricciardo should be in the second Mercedes seat, but that would not play to Hamilton's plan
You mention Ham has more drivers as fast as him now, that's saying Ham has more competition than Schumi did. You forget Schumi had more subservient team mates than any one in the sport, remember he "built " the team. Are you saying Riccardo would give Hamilton trouble? You forget Kvyatt beat Riccardo in 2015.
As usual you make up your own ****. Blatantly cheating? What, exhaust blown diffuser is illegal in 1994? Only thing you can accuse them off is using a fueling rig without restrictor. As for Ferrari...when he joined the team they where utterly ****. He left the best team to join the clowns at Ferrari that couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery. As for his teammates...do you honestly believe that he wouldn't have won as many titles if his teammates didn't move over? What a fantasy you live in. Schumacher didn't have a completely dominant car at Ferrari. 2001, 2002 and 2004, yes. But the other years they had REAL competition. Your hatred for Schumacher knows no bounds and you always ignore the truth and stick with whatever suits your argument best.
Schumacher never had a Champion team mate for a full season. Both Senna and Hamilton have beat Champion team mates.
They never had to tell Barrichello to move over, he did it automatically, it was predetermined before the season started.
In Australia, first race of the season. Rosberg told NOT to pass Hamilton, even though Nico was faster. I suppose Uncle Toto always felt sorry for "Lewis from the ghetto" - and Lewis has milked that sympathy card to the last drop
Boredom in the off season.... lets keep it going... Rosberg says Hamilton is one of the best F1 drivers https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/38156079
That's the only thing they were convicted of. It's pretty commonly accepted that they were running illegal traction control in 1994, the software was included on the car, was able to be activated from a hidden menu, this was confirmed at the end of the season. The only reason they were not punished is the FIA said they couldn't prove that they actually used it in a race. Senna was adamant that Schumacher was using it. So Schumacher reorganized Ferrari and dragged them to the podium and championships all by himself? Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne, who left the best team and joined Ferrari a year after Schumi, had nothing to do with it? Jean Todt, who joined Ferrari 2 years earlier and recruited those 3, had nothing to do with it? Sorry, several posts in this thread seem to credit Schumacher with rescuing Ferrari single-handedly, without acknowledging the other 3 members of the "dream team" that made Ferrari's success in the late 90s and 00s possible. Without Todt, Brawn, Byrne, Schumacher at Ferrari would have much less success, and might have been stuck at just 2 titles with Benetton. Ferrari didn't start to turn around their dismal record until Brawn and Byrne joined for 1997. I don't minimize Schumacher's contribution to Ferrari's success and titles from 2000 - 2005, but I do believe he could never have had the same success at Ferrari without Brawn as Technical Director, or Byrne as Designer, or Todt as Team Principal. Incorrect, nothing more needs to be said than "Austria 2002".
1996: It certainly took time - and certainly took teamwork. Some forget that Schumacher literally lived on the Fiorano circuit, working until the wee small hours with the team, day in day out. Unlike Irvine. This hardcore work ethic resulted in a car that was finally a title contender in Michael's hands for 2000 (without bespoke tyres) His pre-eminent work ethic was finally rewarded. This is always a great reminder of life's fundamentals.
Correct, and most forget that the Ferrari was on the podium regularly and won races before Micheal came, the car was far from trash as some want to believe
Yes, the pre Shummi Ferraris were real weapons, they would blow any other car , To bad Alesi and Berger were so slow, had they been any better they would have won 10 titles in 2 years!!!
No, beyond doubt the best would be Juan Manuel Fangio who won the WDC five times for four different teams: Alfa Romeo in 1951, Mercedes-Benz in 1954 and 1955, Ferrari in 1956 and Maserati in 1957 when he was forty-six years old! Remember also that in those years two or three F1 drivers perished every year! If il Maestro had been born in this era he might have won twenty WDC's. I saw him race in person at the 1956 Sebring 12 Hours. Peerless.
