My car was coated in Gyeon Ceramic coat by the previous owner and it looks amazing....when it's clean. The first time I want to clean a bug splatter or bird droppings and use a detailing spray it turns into a cloudy, murky mess. I've tried several brands of detail spray, including Gyeon Ceramic Detailer and even tried cutting it down to a 50/50 with distilled water mix and still get the problem.

I love how the car looks fresh after washing it but I don't want to have to wash the whole car for every little touch up.

    Any suggestions?

Reach out to Gyeon directly. Denver Auto Shield is the shop owned by their US distributor

Clean microfiber towels. I should have commented in the photo, those are not scratches in the paint but streaks from the detailing spray. The paint looks amazing when I wash it.

I know you probably are not doing this but wanted to make sure you are not using any kind of softener in wash or dryer when cleaning mf towels .. again probably not the case but wanted to throw it out there

Some detergents have softeners in them ..

Also front loaders are horrible ..never rinse enough ..need.use extra rinse cycle

Good idea but I do an extra rinse cycle on them. I have other black cars and use detail spray on them as well with no issues. It's unique to the Gyeon coated car which is what's making me crazy. I tried Griot's Speed Shine and a few of the McGuiar's products and had the same issue. I hate to say it but it scares me away from ever ceramic coating a car or perhaps this is unique to the Gyeon product.

I'm going to dry diluting the Gyeon Ceramic detail spray more and see what happens. Worst case, the car will get washed again.

    Thanks all for the advice!

You're doing this in the shade with a cool surface right? If the paint is warm (easy to have happen with any sun and dark paint) the spray detailers will streak like that from the heat.

I have been applying Gyeon Quartz ceramic coatings for years now and never had any problem with the one you are having my friend.
I would agree with Matt above, are you applying the detailing spray directly onto the paint surface when hot or warm?, try applying the detailer to your microfibre first then wipe onto the paint surface and buff off accordingly, but only in the shade and when the paint is cool.

I agree 100 percent. It doesn't take too much spray to create this condition. I I have had that happen with many different suppliers of similar products. They always say a little goes a long way and it couldn't be more true

I know it is rather "ghetto" compared to most of the higher-end products discussed on this forum but FWIW I just purchased some of the new Meguires Ceramic Detailer - I have previously used Mothers Quick Detailer and Mothers Waterless Wash&Wax for all my cars - the 458S being black.

While the Mothers products work great I have been very impressed with the Meguires comparable to the Waterless Wash&Wax and it seems to be more readily available for some reason - So figured I would try out the Meguires Ceramic Detailer - it was AMAZING! IMHO a significantly better shine and slick with better lubricity - I initially tried/tested it on my white Jetta which was filthy and it worked great - Then used it on my 458S (obviously not filthy but a bit dusty) and it was amazing - no streaks/great shine/great slick finish. Obviously as stated it is critical you don't use detergents with fabric softener and obviously no fabric softener at all and obviously run an extra HOT clear water rinse cycle and (ok I am a bit OCD :) ) I have different MF towels for using detailer versus the wash&wax versus the Sprayway glass cleaner and wash them all separately (probably overkill) but that's just me.

Anyway - the "Ceramic" for the detailer is probably just marketing but figured since your car is Ceramic coated this might work better - if nothing else it is a helluva quick detailer IMHO.

Just a suggestion - Lots better products and more expertise on here than I but thought I would throw it out - Cheers :)

I called the people that did the coating and they recommended the same of only spraying it on the microfiber towel first. This seems to have done the trick.

Any time I detail or touch up a car it is on cool paint and inside a garage unless I get hit with some bird droppings or bug splatters. We have several other cars and I've always been able to spray the detail spray directly on the paint but it looks like this one will be the "special" one. Thanks for all the help!

If it gives the desired results and it works for you then thats what counts, no matter if it cost ££££ or was from the local bargain store.
I can remember talking to a detailer at the Hampton Court Concours event a few years ago, he had around 5 of his clients cars to look after that were being shown that day.
He had a mobile trolley with various detailing sprays, waxes and cloths, like most people i wanted to know which he prefered. He explained that he had been looking after these cars for many years and had got to know which product worked best on each one as they all reacted differently to the products he used.
