Guys wearing their pants below the ass, and the ironic origin of this dumb idea

Yeah man, nothin's cooler than rape and slavery.

 

One parish here in Louisiana has outlawed this. But they wrote the law to where if any part of the underwear is showing than you are in violation. Now they have to re-write it as a visible bra strap would be in violation of the law.

It was pretty funny to see the "on the street" interviews on the news. They were talking to these kids that were playing ball and they showed them having to pull up their pants every 5 seconds.

In my town there was a guy that made the news. He was running from the police but his falling pants fell to his feet and made him trip face first into the ground.

 

I think it is the opposite. They are showing that they are sexually ready to do your wife or daughters. They are confident love machines. I used to remember back in high school, a long time ago, that the sex machines used to walk around with their pants up but their belts undone and waving in front of them.

 

I got enough problem not hitting cotton everytime I fart. The more layers of clothes between me and the outside the better.......

Ugh, it was the most annoying thing back in high school. I mean, what on god's green earth makes you think people want to see your underwear, with your pants halfway down your knees? People look absolutely idiotic when they do this. They must think they're #1 OG.

 

I was riding an escalator at an airport a few months ago, and the guy in front of me had his pants below his butt and his striped boxers hanging out. He also had every piece of bling you can imagine, every appendage was sparkly. I remember it because there were 2 kids on the step behind me, maybe 6 years old, that were pointing at him and laughing their little butts off. He was trying VERY hard to stay cool during it all, but I had to chuckle too.

 

I think it's funny there is a thread for this....why don't you go up on ask them. It would help instead of trying to come up with the historical bullcrap.

 

Maybe they're practicing to be plumbers.

 

And for the record I never wore my pants like that, these teens are just in the phase....peer pressure is just too much for some kids.

 

Yes, I was told that #2 is way "sagging" was established.

I laugh at every idiot whom "sags" as a "***."

that's why the style is called " jailin'". they also discard their shoestrings as well. i find it quite amusing. i would love to see one of them being chased by a cop or fighting.

 

i frigin hate the look !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate the pants, i hate the crooked hats, i hate the short pants down to the ankles.......its dumb looking and rediculous.........who theyre trying to impress ????? a joke...............id like to see that crap come down my street, they would be exiting with a bad limp.

 

actually - I've always heard that the origin is one of two things and both involved jail:

1.) like you said - the belt was removed during booking process (for a variety of reasons, not just suicide attempts). Pants fall during stint in jail and sometimes belt is lost in property - therefore subject walking home from jail with pants continuing to fall down.

2.) (this, in my opinion, is the most plausible) Jails typically purchase large quantities of same sized clothing for inmates to wear. Since belts are generally not allowed and people are infinitely "differently sized" most inmates would wind up wearing clothing some size(s) too large. Since belts are not allowed, the pants would fall enough to at least expose the undergarments. Once freed from jail - said inmate would wear his pants in this manner as a way to show off his thug-ness in that he has been to jail.

As a cop, I hear this all the time. Most of the guys in the different agencies I work with agree with assessment #2.

 

I know the real origin of this because I was there...

Back in high school (late 1980s), the pants hanging halfway down yer ass with your boxers showing was a popular style of dress by WHITE PREP SCHOOL KIDS.

I know because I went to the same prep school here in Maryland.

It wasn't a "black thing" - if anything, it might have progressed to the hip-hop world because they wanted to emulate what was hip with rich white kids.

 

Its a disgusting fashion fad, almost as bad as chubby girls who wear super-tight low rise jeans and have all their belly and ass fat pushing up above the waist.

 

I was at the local amusement park here in Canada (Canada's Wonderland) a few years ago. There was this particular individual who was trying way to hard to be "thug". Pants around his ass and the lingo to go with it. This guy was whiter then Santa's beard. We were waiting in line for a roller coaster, along with a family of younger children. I guess the daddy got mad at the language that was coming out of this thug's mouth (as was I..and I swear like a drunken sailor sometimes) and decided to politely ask him to tone it down a bit for the sake of the kids and parents.

Needless to say the little thug decided to lip off to the daddy (who was a BIG dude). Well daddy grabbed the kid and pulled him up over the railing by the shirt and placed him directly in front of him..and asked the kid to repeat what he said..kid was shocked and I could see tears in his eyes starting to form. After a good verbal lashing, daddy told the kid to leave the area if he knew what was good for him and his friends. As the kid was leaving with his buddies he yelled over "Oh and pull your friggin pants up!! You look like an ass!! HE DID!!! LOL..the entire place was laughing at him and his little thug buddies..they left the park. Hand shakes all around, high fives and free ice cream to him and his family from the park manager!! LOL...

 

LOL!! Good for him.

Did he trip over his too low pants on his hasty exit from the park?

 

yeah, i'm sure all the dudes at gilman and mcdonogh were wearing their dockers around their butts when mummy picked them up in the suv after lacrosse practice. the sign of a declining civilation is when the youth emulate the lower class.
