If there is ever an FChat civil war, I call RufMd and thecarreaper on my side. You guys have pretty awesome collections.
RufMD, i salute you! i love , love LOVE the Thompson's. on a class III note,i have been extremely happy with YHM. i have Cobra 9mm, and a Mite, and the Mite is the best out of my 3 .22 cans. my Warlock does work well on my P22 and my Ruger semi auto, but the Mite is super quiet, can be taken apart to clean and grease, and is very small. i have been using IDEAL Wire Pulling gel in my suppressors, with no ill effect. its better than water, and the Teflon in it allows for the can to be cleaned much easier. i would like you opinion on the MP5, i am thinking of selling off a bunch of my WWII and cowboy guns, and get a few more class III. i want a YHM .308 can next, as i can put it on .308, 6.8 and .223. the gas system on the FALs i have may not lend itself to supression well, but i have a few other .30 i can try the can on. cool collection RUFMD, and thank you for sharing!
thank you, but i do hope i never, ever need to use a firearm against another person. i have them more for the history, and mechanical " how does it work" reasons. Michael
Likewise Michael ! I love the old pieces because of the history behind them...the Colt Thompson I have was milled on the same steam driven lathes at Auto Ordnance as used in civil war manufacture ! The Thompsons are the most reliable guns I have, literally thousands of rounds without a hitch. Its a throwback to good old fashioned american engineering at its best and built to last. The modern stuff is all about the technical detail as you pointed out. I get as much satisfaction out of stripping and cleaning these pieces as I do going to the range. The can on the HK Tactical .45 is a CCF Impulse II, and the can on the Powder Springs Mac .45 is made by Daniels. The MP5SD has an integral suppressor of course. These are very quiet guns, and extremely pleasant to shoot. When fired in full auto mode, its clear to see why these used to be SWAT entry weapons of choice...zero recoil, high cyclic rate of fire, reliable ! If you decide to go HK MP5, I suggest you buy a gun with an HK sear...that way you can always match them up with other guns as you add to your collection (register each combo with the ATF of course) All ATF Laws apply of course ! Cool thread guys, great pics and NICE stuff !
Luving the Tommy gun. After the Roger Waters concert last weekend my buddy showed me his Tommy gun and man those thing's are heavy but it was awesome just to hold a part of history, I felt like Dillinger !
How is the drum on that HK91 working? Been thinking it would be an interesting addition but don't know anyone who has one to try out....
That drum is solid, no glitches or hangups. It also feeds very easily...you just turn a knob on the face of the drum which pushes the feed down into the drum (just drop your .308 down and you can load 50 rounds relatively quickly). Back when I bought this drum, the restriction on their ownership had just been lifted. They were rare and commanded about $1100 for the drum. I don't know if prices have changed or whether they are easier to find. This drum is a genuine HK factory. Considering the rate of fire on the G3/91, I recommend it though !
Can't remember the name of the company but there was a manufacturer advertising them in Shotgun News... Looked like a nice piece for around $200.
i have a whole box of HK drum mags, new. i was going to get a belt fed semi auto mg34 and adapt them. i got the 1919 instead with a hand crank. i still want a MG34 or MG42 semi, but they are so damn high now. i will look for the mags and post a pic. perhaps someone may want them?
ok, never mind, i dont think these are the same type. they are factory HK, and new though! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This week's new toy! Still needs a front BUIS and Eotech riser for co-witness. Cali legal of course. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
they fit the HK, and the semi MG42 ,M53 belt feds that are on the market. .308 / 8mm. i have a 1919, but it uses 1919 cloth belts or Israeli metal links.
HMMM no one mentioned the Mk-19 grenade launcher. I loved shooting that thing when I was in the Corps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGKy4pa4bGY&feature=related My fave though is my Glock 19 that I bought from Walmart back in the day when they used to sell handguns.
