I’m fascinated by watches with guilloche dials - anyone own something cool? I particularly like the Orient Sun and Moon and Tissot Le Locle - what other watches look nice?
I don't know what you're price range is but Garrick Watchmakers S2 is a real beauty of an engine turned / guilloche dial on a wonderful in-house movement. Their S4 with steel case and engine turned dial is a stunner as well. The American company, RGM Watches also has some beautiful pieces.
RGM is amazing! Just a little out of my budget Some of the watches here look fantastic: https://www.thehourglass.com/horological_culture/the-art-of-guilloche/
This is more my price range, I absolutely love this watch (although it's pretty big): Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's another option then Image Unavailable, Please Login There are several vintage Longines watches with guilloche dials as well. Smaller in size and price.
That is beautiful, I love it! There are some Chinese / Sea-Gull movement watches with sapphire crystals for around the same price. I'd love a Longines given the story of my father giving his away. I guess simply because they "got away" I want one LOL. And I'm really digging the vintage thing, so I'll check that out.
My brother bought me this many years ago. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/qKQAAOSwxp9W-mTh/s-l640.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login
Look at Frederique Constant, they are good value https://frederiqueconstant.com/collections/5-1-automatic/products/automatic-fc-303rmn5b6 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Checkout Chronoswiss as well. Some of the older models have great dials: Image Unavailable, Please Login
For something different, watch maker is based in Singapore, limited choices but very affordable: https://www.reveriewatches.com/store/c2/Watches.html
Yeah, this is kind of their specialty. Good values used as they tend to depreciate but Breguet is one of my favorite brands.
Some of my favorite watches are from Breguet. I wish I could afford one, but there are some interesting "homage" watches from Tissot, Frederique Constant, Raymond Weil, etc. that I'd consider. It will never be a Breguet, since that's actually hand turned, most of these other watches are stamped. A 4154 or 7147 with small seconds are aces to me!
Image Unavailable, Please Login I have worn this Breguet everyday since 2006. Large date Marine. The dial is hypnotizing.
how has the watch held up? I’ve heard Breguet service is lengthy and expensive compared to others. Has this been your experience?
Hi Hawkeye. I have had no problem in 15 years. Love it everyday. People just can't believe the dial and how great it looks. It gets way more attention by watch people than my Patek's ... I just send it to European watch in Boston for a tune up. As there are no broken parts, most of these high end watch places can work on it. Just a couple of weeks and it comes back in great shape. $400 at most.
