Just seen on another forum that GTO have stopped doing their revival series. Officially on their website they state it’s because they have a big backlog of work and are too busy. At nearly a million pound a pop a can’t image GTO being busy enough to turn that sort of money down. I think there might be more to this than meets the eye. Cease & desist?
Hopefully someone on here can shed more light on what’s happened here.

I posted that. I am one of the dammed type that would consider this, well, at least publicly. (Arrows flying my way instantly).

I was considering doing this years ago with my Ellena, because no one, especially Ferrari, cares about saving them. When it comes to Ellena, NO ONE cares. Except the purists. Try finding ANYTHING IN MARANELLO OR BEYOND!

I have always wondered the special relationship that GTO had with Ferrari.

The GTO Spider has always been on my radar. Not perfect, but so much potential in the “Fun” category.

As I mentioned on the Allegretti thread below, with Marks passing and the company concentrating on their own unique model, something had to give.

A number of potential buyers on here in the past have confirmed there is a significant waiting list for the replica's.

Mark did an interview a few years back where he confirmed a significant legal bill for fighting off the men in dark suits, it was found they had no legal reason to prevent GTO producing these examples, it never went to court, simply just hollow threats.

I for one would definitely like to see the interview. I know the law in the U.K. changed in 2020 providing more protection for works of artistic craftsmanship which is the route all the manufacturers are perusing. It’s a flaky argument and there isn’t much clarity in the legal world as to what exactly constitutes artistic craftsmanship. As people have mentioned Ferrari seem to have no interest in the preservation of a great deal of there old cars so it comes down to independents to remanfacture parts for these cars to keep them going. And as I’ve always said how many replica parts need to be fitted to an original before that original is in essence a replica itself.

What a shame that they stopped them...would've been one of my all time dream cars.

GTO Engineering was bought by John Collins of Talacrest in 2022 after Mark Lyon sadly passed away but has now been taken over by long time employees Kevin Jones, Lee Jones and James Crossland.

Below is from the GTO Engineering website in the link here.

I've not heard of one by them, but did GTO Engineering ever make a 250 GTO replica?
