Those of you who own a Lusso, do you have a second Ferrari and if so what model and why? I currently have a V12 Lusso, and love everything about it especially the sound of it. But there’s something about the look of a midengine f-car, I’m itching to get into one. I also love the 812, but I’m assuming that wouldn’t scratch my itch for something sportier. I haven’t posted photos of the new ride yet, so I’ll add them here!
While I don't currently own 2 Ferraris, I did own an F12 (absolutely beautiful car) but it in no way "did it" for me from wanting a true sports car. I sold it back to the dealer in about 3 months. While I haven't driven an 812, I would think the same may apply. For my tastes, too much weight in the front and not as sharp handling as a mid-engine. I much more enjoyed the driving experience of the mid-engine V8s. I owned a 458 and loved it. Not a huge fan of the 488 (mostly on looks) but really like the F8. I had the itch again so a year ago I bought a McLaren 720S because it was a lot less money than an F8. While it is not a Ferrari, I really enjoy it. It is the perfect complement to my V12 Lusso.
I have the 2018 V12 Lusso, and also have a Superfast, just changed for a GTS, The performance of the 812 model is brutal so wouldnt think you would feel short changed and all I can say is the harmony of the V12 is hard to go without , had the V8 ferraris also and no match for the pleasure of hearing the NA V12. My 2 cents... Your Lusso looks tremendous, is that Rossso or another red? Also I think the Superfasts are a real bargain right now...
Thanks! It’s Rosso Maranello. I bought it before seeing it in person and will say it looks gorgeous in the sunlight!
yes it looks nice, I am considering adding another V12 Lusso into the mix and is one for sale, low miles and is Rosso Fiorino which also looks nice, only snag with it appears to be A Cuio upper dashboard which I think could prove to be reflective hell especially here in FL
As an owner of two v12 Ferraris, I agree that nothing beats the sound and emotion that a V12 Ferrari engine can deliver. I also agree with you that having a V8 compliments and completes the Ferrari experience. My favorite V8 are the 430 and 360. They are old school and raw and therefore will prove the perfect contrast to the modern luxury Lusso. My suggestion would be to get a 430 spider. You will love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks gorgeous in Rosso Maranello, congratulations! I have a Lusso and an F8. I love them both, and for totally different reasons. The Lusso is good at just about everything. I can take my girls on the school run, pick up groceries on the way home from the office, or rip through country roads with a big smile on my face. As you know, that glorious V12 the highlight. By comparison, the F8's engine is less special. But the car feels sharper and lighter and more responsive. The contrast is fantastic. I love having two cars that I adore for different reasons. Each car makes me appreciate the other even more. Judging from the way you phrased your post, I think you'll feel the same way. That said, I hope to eventually add an F12 or 812 and a NA V8 car (458 or manual 430...or both) to the mix. Those all feel somewhere in the middle and I like the idea of even more variety. Let us know what you decide.
FF and F12 by my side, it is difficult to leave the V12 once you discovered it. I ran again my friend's 488 today, amazing as well and more nimble but the engine is less "sharp and raw" than the V12, no speaking of the sound of course...
In my comparison with the 488 I mean vs the V12 in the F12 (with Kline sportcats and Xpipe), much more crisper and raw than in the FF (shorter gearing, less weight, 2WD, etc...). In the FF the V12 is still magic but less agressive.
I have an FF rather than a Lusso but I think having a mid engine v8 and a front engined v12 is a great pairing. Personally I have a gated 360 spider and I think it’s a good mix. No idea if a spider works in your climate but I like the analog feel of the 360 and values are reasonable enough that I don’t feel financially irresponsible having two cars. I thought I’d sell the 360 after getting an FF and while I do drive it less than before, it is such a different driving experience that I could never sell it. I also find the 360 is really fun at legal speeds. My only beef with the FF is that it is so fast it’s a little hard to really push it on the road (yes I realize that sounds stupid). Still tons of fun but the 360 is slow enough I can really beat on it and still look down and be going 80ish [emoji38] The 430 is another good option but I’d go for the manual gearbox over the model. The spider top in both cars is finicky but I fixed mine with basically no prior mechanical experience, so it is do able. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I had a FF then Lusso along with a 458. I regret selling Lusso the most. Yes, get a 458 spider in red again. That will look super nice in the garage
I started with a 430 Spider in 2011 and added a 2018 Lusso in 2020. They are a perfect complement to each other, and I'm lucky to have both. The Lusso is the weekend family screamer and the 430 is the "brute" convertible that is perfect for Oct.-Mar. Florida.
I own a 612 and then I added my FF. I'm in New England so I had to have a Ferrari I could drive in winter. I wouldn't mind a mid-engine Ferrari, but we drive these cars all over the country (and out to Canada). A mid-engine wouldn't be comfortable for that, plus not enough storage space for all my wife's luggage!

lovely car , what’s the interior ? i am looking to pick up another Lusso either in silverstone or titanio preferably a 2019 but hard to find Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
a real gentleman’s color combo . my first superfast was same combo , super nice . my current ( which i am keeping ) Lusso is also a 2018 , Swaters blue , with tortora and 4k mile and decent set of options . i was a little spoiled in that my first Lusso was a T (v8) 2019 grigio titanio with an outstanding set of options . i did like having the blind spot monitoring and ACC in that one , together with about every carbon fiber option you could pick , none of which my v12 . so i am torn in my pursuit of another v12 , ideally i would love to have a unicorn spec 2019 fully loaded with super low miles as the “ keeper “ and use my 2018 more often to crank the miles out or whether to view the one i have as the “ keeper “ and get the other one with lower sPec more n miles tax as the usable daily . i intend to have a Lusso 10 years from now … so for the moment i am keenly scouring the classifieds for that “ unicorn “ one . have a few that have come close but each one always had a glaring omission . so i would guess the special one i am looking for would be a 2019 with an original sticker price around or over $400k…the closest was one on BAT i think was rosso dino with less than 2k , beige traditione if i recall interior but had the matching carpets and also the full dash was same ( light tan ) which would be a big no no here in south florida .
I currently have a Lusso and 458. Both are great as others have said. The most enjoyable way to use the cars is Lusso daily and 458 as a sprinter or the occasional HPDE car for the track. Image Unavailable, Please Login Doug
