Just saw one of these in my neighborhood. Wondering if I should race him. He'll probably kick my butt. Kidding about the racing of course. Must be a very capable vehicle. I'm not fond of wings and it's a little heavy on the graphics/branding for my taste. But sounds nice!

Can anyone compare vs. a Scuderia? Anyone own/driven both offer up your opinion please.

    Cheers,

    DL

I'm seeing advertised 0-60 of 3.8 secs, but Porsche tends to be conservative, so maybe 3.6? Similar weights and HP. More rear weight bias says Porsche should be a little faster off the line, but a few tenths is going to boil down to tire grip (and temperature) and driver skill at any legal speed. My Scud is seriously traction limited in 1st and 2nd. I need to do some better data logging, but I was pulling slightly more Gs in 2nd than 1st. Gs didn't drop off until I hit 3rd.

Will be interesting to hear actual comparisons :)

4.0 is a really nice car. Not a big fan of big wings and graphics but on a Porsche it looks nice.

There are frequent posts over on rennlist on this topic. The summary seems to be - cars are pretty equally matched at the track. The Scud wins in a drag race. Long post about which to buy (4.0 or Scud) and the Scud won out. Search Rennlist on 4.0 and you will find a ton.

The best 997 yet ? But IMO not worth the extra and not as good as a Scud.

3.8 seconds to 60mph is the time for the regular 2010 435bhp GT3. The 4.0 is got to be faster at 500bhp.

Yes, porsche always grossly underestimates performance numbers.

    2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 0-60 mph 3.3 Quarter Mile 11.4

    From: http://www.zeroto60times.com/Porsche-0-60-mph-Times.html

    Car & Driver
    10-2011 Test 0-60 3.6 1/4 mile [email protected]

But the meat of the GT3 RS 4.0 is not 0-60. Thats owned by the 997TT S at 0-60 of 2.6sec 1/4 mile 10.7@129 (all wheel drive rules)

The GT3 RS4 has a unimaginable slalom speed of 75.8mph only beaten by a few cars including the GT2, Z06, Z01. I dont recall the Scud slalom, but think it was an Enzo like 73mph.

I would like to own the 4.0, or maybe the next version based on the new 991 variant, if I can find a place to park it and the spare 200k.
