The Ferrari doesn't quite look like the gun metal on the Mercedes

A few years ago my father painted his 308 Silverstone Grigio. (I’ve since inherited it.)

I don’t know how the paint was applied. It looks a little like a base metallic plus a transparent color like you get with a candy apple metallic, but in grey. It has real depth that I don’t think you can get from a wrap,

Grigio silverstone shouldn’t be too hard to match, but do keep in mind that gloss vinyl tends to have a much poorer finish than paint. It lacks the depth and clarity, and has far more orange peel.

This difference is invisible in pictures, but easy to see in person.

If you're looking to wrap your car, I suggest you research places local to you. There's a range of abilities and it's worth finding the best.
I just went through this process in preparation to wrap my 911. Some of these guys have impressive skills and there is a dizzying range of colors available.
As was stated, it's not as rich and lacks depth compared to OEM paint, but if you have an itch for a new color it's a reasonable and reversible approach.
Be sure to post up before/after pics if you have it wrapped.

Why not clear wrap it? Or... do you want to find that gunmetal wrap?

Yeah, I'm looking for that particular gunmetal wrap.
