    There is alot of talk about the Red cars that were used on Magnum PI, but what about the Green one driven by Robin Masters' nephew. The car had a plate the read ROBIN 23. I remember from other threads that there were supposedly two green cars used in that episode (which makes sense for TV/Movies) but I have not heard what happened to them. I realize that they could have been red cars that were "peel coated" to be green. Anyone have more detail?

    I'm pretty sure this car has been discussed several times in the Magnum threads.

    I tried a search with magnum, green, 308 and came back with a bunch of hits....

    I was the one who mentioned that two different cars were used. I noticed it the last time I watched that episode. I wonder why they needed TWO? Why not just use the one and be done with it?

    I saw that episode the other day. Great color. Also the girl drove a Pininfarina bodied Cadillac Allante.

    From what I know of movie/tv production, they always have at least two identical cars available. That way if one gets damaged, they can use the other one to keep shooting. A "peel coat" is a paint process that allows you to change the color of a car with a layer that can literally be peeled off.

    Depending on which scene, the green 308 either has a regular US front spoiler or a deep Euro spoiler.

    Go back are watch it again and see

    Two different spoilers, as well as dark interior, mean that these were not red/tan cars that were repainted. It would be interesting to see if the studio had a record of these cars. While not the traditional resale-red, these two cars would have a great story to go along with them.

    Same here. The kid was going around pretending to be Magnum. Copuple of good chase scenes with the bad guys.

    I'd be interested in finding out who owns those cars now! Anyone know the vins.?Just caught that episode a few months ago, really good chase scene!
