Indeed this colour is uncommon, yet very nice. It would look even better with TRX (for that sort of price there is no point in saving $500 on tires!).

Two tone spoiler is an excellent idea (looks good and and easy to touch-up). Never seen a car with this flat black paint. just wondering if this was a standard feature?

Raemin, my '85 400i also has the black paint on the lower section "radiator cover" portion...and the wheels are 15", not metric for the TRX tires on this '82.

    Hi All,

As Newman posted on 24 may 2017, there is more pedal waer than you would expect after only 13k kilometers.
But there is more. There is also a very obvious dent (elbow?) in the drivers door panel. I know from most 400-412 pictures I have seen, a lot of cars suffer from it. In my opinion it is to obvious after only 13k km.

Mine has 58k km, no dent. Might sound silly, but this is, beside an complete history of the car, one of the reasons, I fell for it and finally bought it.

    Have a nice weekend,

    Peter

Mine has 79K and has the dent. Its possible the 412 has an improved panel vs the 400's, yours is certainly thicker. I plan to take mine off and see how I can correct it.

    Hi Newman,

I don't know about the former owners, but anyway, since these panels seem to be sensitive to pressure, I always keep my elbows close to my body while driving. Just to avoid these dents. I always have to remember myself: You are in the 412! Watch you elbows! Part of the experience, I guess.
