OK, I know I saw this mentioned in a thread some time ago, but I'll be darned if my searches can turn up anything... I need a good quality place that can do a road force/wheel-tire indexing kind of balance on 4 20" SUV tires and wheels. I just put a new set on my Sequoia when I was in Orlando - had a tire come apart and replaced all 4 - but they aren't quite balanced to my liking. Any references available from you guys? Thanks!!
TK Performance on the corner of 826 and Red Road in North Miami Dade (Miami Lakes). They are in the corner of Home Depot in an outparcle. They have all the right equipment. Special wheels use special equipment
Only one... Jeff at OK tire in Pompano on dixie...he hand balances on the car, a lost art. super careful with alloys..he's done my ferraris for years. you wont believe how smooth your car is at 150. i can't say enuf about him...a real nice guy as well.
I ONLY let G-Roads handle my wheels and tires, they used to be GoodRoads, They are just west of Powerline Road (close to xtreme) , and on Commercial Blvd. 954. 771.4508, ask for John (mgr) and tell him that Robert with the Red 360 sent you there. They are NOT open on Sunday and Mondays, the weekends are a freakin zoo. If you can go during the week, it is much better. Good luck. I also herd that OK tires are a very good operation in pompano. But I perfer G-Roads, wait just wait to you go there. It is like a candy store. They usually have some bass a$$ machines there.
I know when it was GoodRoads they used to do on the vehicle high speed balancing but not sure now. OK Tire at Dixie and Prospect did as well but that particular OK Tire closed. I use the OK Tire in Pompano on Dixie just south of Sample for our work vehicles and they've been very good. Good luck Griff.
Usually don't do second posts on this, but Jeff at OK tire pompano is it. I mean it. Really. No one else will touch your car. he's an owner, not a $10 hour guy. and a racer. and a car nut. No, I don't get a commission.
Thanks all... Dave - sent you a PM, let me know when and where. Mark - Thanks too; that's the one I was looking for, I remember you posting about OK previously. Jeff will be an option if I can't hook up with Dave. Robert - I too have used G-roads for a long time, but when I swapped out the wheels on my Mini a couple of months ago I felt they screwed me... $30 per wheel to dismount/remount/balance seemed steep. Then I had to tip the guy to light a fire under his ass so I could get out of there in less than 2 hours. Unfortunately I probably won't use them again.
Robert, Still chasing a solution; I went to Dave's Wednesday night, and it appears I have a defective wheel and/or tire on the right rear. Dave worked on it for nearly an hour, and couldn't get it to balance. Every time he'd add weight in one spot the machine indicated, it would then indicate more weight was needed somewhere else. Dave wanted to talk to a balance specialist there before we attempted any more, and we haven't had a chance to try anything further. I may end up having to pursue having the wheel and tire being replaced by Discount Tire, but I'm waiting to confirm its only the one wheel I'm having a problem with.
good news...the next day Hunter had to come out a fix the balancer cause everyone had the same thing happen... I'll call you later, we shall try this again. lol
