Come up the 95 North and get off on Summerlin Parkway and try out Hannah's. One of my favorites. http://hannahslv.com/index.html
There is a steak house in Excalibur that has great steak. Also a place in MGM called "Diego's" that has some killer Mexican food. The atmosphere is pretty good there too. Glad to hear the reviews of Joel Robuchon. Wife and I wanted to eat there for our Anniversary, but chose Diego's instead. Next year.
We're going to be at the Wynn the 27-31 of May. In town for a watch / jewelry show, and my girlfriend and I are staying 2 extra days. We were thinking about Alex, SW, Picasso for this time. Alex seems to be really highly recommened. Really wanted to try Le Cirque, but the Vegas resturant has been getting some sub-par reviews. Last time we ate at Prime (great), Mesa Grill (ok), and Mon Ami Gabi (ok).
The restaurant scence in Vegas is amazing. The depth and range of the offerings challenge, and perheps, surpass the culinary meccas around the world. Four 5-diamond restaurants and a long list of 4-diamond restaurants, it seems to be a great city for foodies. I think every cusine is well-represented, am I wrong? Can you really go wrong with a Strip-based (or a slightly off strip, such as the Palms, Hard Rock, Green Valley) restaurant? One thing I've notice is the art of dressing up and respect seems to be around in Vegas. How good are the "outposts" of celebrity and top chefs? How is Guy Savoy's new offering? I can't imagine the work it takes to ship in all the products to make up the dishes (not to mention that Vegas doesn't offer much in terms of international direct flights to regions that produce world-class products).
Vegas has a huge Fedex hub, to say nothing of DHL and UPS, who are all capable of flying literally anything into Vegas from any point on the planet inside of 24 hours.
