Designed the 1.5 liter V-12 for Ferrari. Engine blossomed into the 3 liter that was used in so many of the beloved 250 series Ferraris.

    Worked/Designed for:

Alfa pre and post Ferrari, engines for 312,316, 512, 158 and 159
Maserati - six cylinder tipo 250F and eight cylinder 450S Sport
    Bugatti 251 eight cylinder
    Abarth 750 twin-cam
    MV Agusta 500cc race engine

His resume is not too shaby, eh?

His book "Origins of the Legend" is one of the finest 'insider's view" of the early years in Maranello.

I knew Busso through my connection to Alfa, but not Colombo. They had VERY differing views of what happened in the early years at Ferrari.

Wikipedia uses both spellings. Hemmings and even Marcel at one point along with a bunch of other sources have two 'c's. But the dust cover at least of the book mentioned above and Alberto use one 'c'. It looks like one is correct, so shouldn't we ask a moderator to correct the title of this thread?

It is a common mistake just as Wifredo Ricart, whose name is often mis-spelled 'WILFREDO"

Colombia the country, named as Columbia. and versa vice.

It happens with a whole lot of Italian names in most car magazines, some better some worse.
all it takes is a bit of Google, but even this page is telling me that Wifredo is mis-spelled :)
    Only Ferrari goes unscathed.

    Regards, Alberto
