While removing plastic panels to refinish them, I smudged my tan leather with this crap. What's the best way to get it off the leather? I'm worried about harsh chemicals damaging or staining the leather in the process.

While Ed's advice is good, be careful with rubbing alcohol on leather.

The best leather cleaner I have found (and I tried many) is Chemical Guys. As far as conditioner, Ed is spot on with Leatherique.

Thanks. I used 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol sparingly, and the goo came right up off the leather. Still some trapped in the stitching making it look a little darker. I went ahead and ordered the Leatherique system to hopefully get the rest. I also have a mountain of Mulholland Bros. leather baggage and want to try it on them.

"Chemical Guys" and the skull+crossbones trademark might go over better with me if they only sold degreasers and caustic agents. I'd be afraid to put it on Ferrari Leather.

It works excellent and the best cleaner I've used on leather.

The part on the left is before cleaning and the right is after :)

Wow. You talked me into it. I just ordered the sprayable cleaner. Not only for the cars and my baggage, but my moto leathers and wife's horse tack. (Justifying all the leather care products I'm accumulating).

Just spray it on and then use a very soft brush to get into the cracks of the leather :)
