There was a whole POSSIE of 1098s at Laguna. By a large margin the most stunning one was the tricolore. It is 10k more than the red or yellow base. The black is only offered in the "s" model and carries a premium of 5k over the base. Hate to say it, but in person the black falls short- too metalic, too greyish. JMHO.

10k for just a paint job? Or is there some other upgrades that come "standard" with that???

Yellow attracts too many insects. Red is the best color for a Ducati. Buy a yellow Yamaha.

Not just a paint job but that price includes the Ohlins suspension with adjustable steering damper (base has Showa and no damper), the Ducati Data Analyzer system, lighter Marchesini forged and machined wheels, carbon fiber front fender and the 70mm Termignoni racing muffler kit with dedicated ECU. Plus don't forget the exclusivity of the small production numbers during a one year model run. If you price out the parts the 10 grand isn't too much of a stretch.

Probably the best motorcycle available for the road today......I have a hard time even dreaming about it!

Good luck getting one of those, I heard they are "rare" !!

    That's sexy!!

I voted "red", but if this guy can't even start a pole, how is he going to handle a Ducati? Just curious :)

well said. These upgrades are serious stuff. They are all the upgrades included in the "s" model. Worth the money to most, (me included). There is an additional $5000 premium, (above the "s" which has a $5000 premium above the standard), for the paint on the Tricolore. It really looks wonderful in person too.

Actually, the Termi exhaust is an option for the S model but is standard on the Tri. Parts alone cost almost 3K which makes buying the Tricolore sound like a bargain, especially when compared to the 999S at $29,995 (MSRP).

I'm waiting for the the full titanium system which is due out in January. :)

I would go with this one!! It is beyond awesome.

Btw I'm sorry if it's a n00b question because I'm not into bikes, but does the 1098 replace the 999? 999 is perhaps my most favourite bike ever.

    Thanks.

Thank you. The 999's are getting down to a attainable price range now! I'm happy for that! :)

Sorry for the off topic. Good luck on your purchase.
