I just phoned up Dayton Auto Center in, Woodbridge, Canada looking for HYPER FLOW CATS and the told me about GESI Cats distributed and marketed by Vibrant Performance. They have an interesting video on you tube about their manufacturing and how it meets all emissions even in California

Has any heard of these guys? if so, What are you thoughts?

They won't pass the California visual inspection if the inspector actually looks. From my understanding there is no aftermarket CAT that will pass the complete California inspection as none of the aftermarket have the proper certification numbers on them. That being said, I had my original CAT's re-cored by Fabspeed with their high performance metal core and they perform great. Since the exterior of the CAT has all the numbers, no problem with the visual part of the test. On the actual smog test portion they tested extremely clean.

Mine was the first test case for them so they were priced accordingly as no one was sure exactly how they would turn out. I know that they currently have the 355 re-core listed on their web site and they are usually good about giving a better F Chat price from the posted one.

I did not buy their in stock cats. I sent them my OEM and they re-cored them. Are they now stocking OEM cats that have been re-cored?

As for performance loss or exhaust note, one of my cats had been blown completely out so basically a straight pipe so I have no real comparison what a functional OEM cat would sound like. I have been very happy with them for both performance and sound but other than the cats I have a completely stock exhaust.

I watched the video and this should be confirmed that an EPA number is what is needed to pass smog in CA. Mine were replaced about 1 1/2 years ago and at that time I could find no cat other than the OEM that was California certified. This may be a new product that went through the California process. If I was looking at investing in these and lived in CA, I would do some checking. If so, that's a great find and gives us CA owners more options. Any idea on the price of these?

All of this being said, at my last check at a STAR facility, they didn't even bother to look at the cats. They took a quick look in the engine bay and then hooked me up to the computer. No CEL's and a very clean test result.

These require some welding and fabrication to install? Fabspeed might be a better option if ready right out of the box

sounds like you have 2 options......one is to recore your original oem cats and the second appears to be a weld in a generic cat....but it would be worth confirming with them to see if they make a 'bolt in' cat for the 355.

My next question is J.S., do you live in California? If not, is any of this even an issue for you?
