Yea, ok, I am a believer now. This is an awesome car.
Awesome and pretty well packaged too. It just makes plain visual and practical sense and does not have the cartoonishness of a Rapide. I spent a while in the back seat, enough headroom, legroom is ok, the only caveat is that while there's enough space, the overall volume and is fairly tight so some people may feel uneasy. Not exactly an "airy" interior, but considering the amount of luggage that can be stuffed in the boot (nice luggage sets btw) and the space alloted to passengers, it's a very compelling proposition. Will be interesting to see how it compares to a 599 on the road and how much compromise there is behind this HUGE bump in usability/practicality. A pretty extensive gallery of interior pics and detailed shots: http://www.asphalte.ch/news/?p=2090
Thanks for your insight, it will definitely be interesting to find out how the market will feel about this car, it's got such a vast performance gap than anything else in the market. The luggage space is really superb too, and seems to have a larger capacity than the general Bentley. The road tests of this car are going to be interesting
Ok.. the lame part. The LCD's built into the neck supports look like they're from a Kia. Come on guys...300 grand for a machine and you just stick in some open market TV screen there? That's the best you can do?
Those things do look crap, seems like the only oversight on this car. Of course it's an auto show but it looks like they show greasy fingerprints, bleh, I hate those things
Ferrari has "jumped the shark" and seen many "sad days." These first reactions are typical and are eventually changed by most. If Ferrari scratched models that enthusiasts and owners at first groaned about we would be missing some pretty steller cars over the years. Of course I love the FF, but I'm not worried about Ferrari at all
I'm really starting to warm up to the FF. Take it for what it is. If I was in the market for a luxurious, fast, exotic cruiser with enough room for the kids, luggage and the dog then I would seriously consider this car. The press pictures really didn't do the car any justice. The pictures from Geneva are much more impressive. I really want to see how the FF looks in the new colors, particularly Blu America and Grigio Abu Dhabi.
This design will go down in automotive history as one of the top ten worst designs ever. I think Ferrari has finally found a way to make a 2+2 depreciate even faster than the recent offerings have.
Yah... just like the California. Ooops. The California's resale value is holding steady while a similar age and mileage Scud is off $100 grand from it's selling price. So, the Scud, the fancy lightweight/no frills/ "he man" sports car lost 50 grand a year but the ugly 2 + 2 "female mobile" is selling pretty much at MSRP. How weird! The exact opposite of what the Nostramauses at Fchat predicted. Well, maybe you'll be right this time. Hope is eternal!
The problem is even though those kinds of statements are utter garbage, the FF, being a 2+2 will depreciate like crazy.
Two completely different cars, this comparison means nothing. IF Lamborghini unveils the Estoque then you can compare.
I told myself I wasnt going to reply in this thread but I just couldnt help but agree with the above...
Perhaps this is more of an indication of the changing profile of Ferrari buyers.....we can debate forever and a day if this change of profile is a good thing or a bad thing but clearly there are people who like the FF, I like it from a concept point of view, I admire the technology but the execution I detest.
I love that blue interior! But properly spec'd, this car is going to be something to look at. I could nicely imagine going very fast in this thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, we can put the Aventador next to a FF. It won't disguise the fact that the Aventador is a step back in design where as Ferrari at least try to evolve a known concept.
I think the car is absolutely stunning, especially that rear view. There are so many more intricate details that the original press photos didn't convey. While there may be some awkward angles this certainly isn't a new phenomenon, I still think a 360 is a little awkward when viewed from the front. As for the idiotic comparison to the Aventador, if you want to go that route. One car pushes the style boundaries and takes risks. The other car follows in the footsteps of the 911 and refreshes a decades-old design. Both cars do introduce some amazing construction and performance technology though. I'm not saying that I don't like the Aventador, it just doesn't push the envelope at all as evidenced by the fact that someone posted a picture of the Reventon thinking it was the Aventador.
Looks like this thread has pretty much settled into distinctive groups. Can afford it and hate it. Can afford it and like it. Will never be able to afford one and hate it (seems to be the most vociferous of the groups). Will never be able to afford one and like it (me and a few others). Which group are you in?
