I have a 2004 "GCC SPECIFICATION" 360 Modena. What does a GCC Spec mean in terms of Ferrari ? Bigger radiators, uprated water pumps, better cooling etc ?????
Can anyone shed some light on this.

There is no such thing as GCC spec. All Ferraris sold in the GCC by dealers are standard Euro-spec cars, except in Dubai where the dealer sells US-spec cars.

By looking at your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is written in various places all over the car, most prominently on top of your steering column, you can tell which area your car was built for. If your car is a Euro-spec car, the 8th character of the VIN will be the letter "B". A US-spec car would have the letter "A". The letter "T" is reserved for something called "Middle East Spec", but is not used by Ferrari.

What is the general differences between a US and euro spec in terms of mechanicals. For example is the cooling system the same?

Mostly extra emissions regulations (which is great for the environment but not so good for performance) and crash safety stuff (which is great for safety but adds a whole lot more weight). A few hundred parts where different but they are essentially the same just adapted to comply with target market red tape. E.g. see thread about cutting holes in CS seats for baby seats!!! a requirement in US. Even then Ferrari have had problems, do a search on the airbag issue for the F430!! You'll also spot that 360's require extra indicator lenses/reflectors on the bumpers (which in my opinion is unecessary and looks ugly!) but hey if you got to comply with the law...

So there is no consideration for the hotter than average conditions that cars destined for this region face ??

Yes, all modern Ferraris are built to withstand the same conditions.

I am guessing that the reason for this is that, given modern design and manufacturing processes, it is more cost effective to (where permitted by law) design the majority of internal vehicle subsystems once (and do it properly) and apply them across the entire production run.

The car is a Euro spec car
    That clears that up then.
