anyone remember where 360 manuals traded in 2009 and 2010?
Pretty much about where they are now. A lot is dependent on condition and miles, and whether coupe or spider. But today’s cars mostly have more miles on them than cars on the market at that time...as you would expect. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
100%agree. Seems like “modern mid engine ferraris have all borrowed styling cues from the 250lm from 360 on. 34 years ahead of the 360. It’s the 1964 250gto mid engine version. Sort of relatively unknown. Now 56 years later. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That is about when I purchased my car. At that time, F1 cars were higher than manual. Top manual coupes were about $90-100K. Top F1 Spiders up to $120K. Dogs started at about $60K.
Yes, but engine-out belt changes cost about 2x or more than 360 belt changes. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
And 360 clutches cost 3-4x more than F355... So pick your poison. Enjoy either. I have one of each and I like them both for different reasons. Robb
Perhaps majority of liq cash tied up in booming equities re gated vs f1— ever heard of anyone converting their gated car to f1 shift?
I find that hard to believe when the cost of parts are the almost the same (360 being cheaper): https://www.ricambiamerica.com/collections/clutch-assemblies/f355ckit-f355-clutch-kit-6sp-manual.html https://www.ricambiamerica.com/collections/clutch-assemblies/360ckit6m-360-clutch-kit-manual-gearbox.html https://www.thesupercarrooms.co.uk/ferrari-clutch-replacement 300 pounds for a f355 clutch change (labor only) and 500 pounds for a 360 clutch change (labor only). Prices vary between workshops but if your paying 3x-4x more than a f355 clutch change for your 360 clutch replacement then change workshop immediately.
A 360 clutch isn't 3-4 times more than a 355, it's around double. And even then, you're not changing a clutch out every 5 years on a stick car.
I guess I should have clarified for labor f355 clutch replacement labor - 500 360 clutch replacement labor - 2k And parts with labor - F355 engine out belt service - 6000 to 7500 360 belt service - 3500 to 4000 Lots of variables on these cars. You can’t just point to the “engine out” as a downer. I own each model. They are both good and costs are not that different year to year for manual cars. Robb
Prices for servicing in the UK that you linked do not come close to US prices for dealers or independents just like prices for Ferrari’s in Australia do not compare to US Prices. The hours spent are quite different as on the F355 you are simply pulling the bumper and exhaust to get to the clutch. Not so on the 360. Apples and Oranges in both cases. So I guess it’s important for us to be specific as to our experiences per select markets. Robb
While I don't agree with Casey all the time..... he pretty much nails how I feel about modern super cars with automated driving assist features....
I thought the same thing when I was paging through my copy of "Ferrari, All the Cars" and again when I watched "Ford vs Ferrari", where many of the P2 and P3 race cars reminded me of the Modena and it's later incarnations.
Beautiful 12k-Mile 2004 black/tan Ferrari 360 Modena 6-Speed on BAT. appears to be in pristine condition with a little white dust around the muffler. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-ferrari-360-modena-8/
Similar 1999 Black one (no shields, but Challenge grills and racing seats) here at Gooding this weekend estimated at $120-$150k. It will be interesting to see the actual result: https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1999-ferrari-360-modena/
will be interesting to see where the BAT spider trades vs the coupe. i predict they both stall out below 100k
That's before my Ferrari time. I was keeping up with the data for a few years after that. Image Unavailable, Please Login
In May of 2013 I bought mine. It was advertised for 89K and had 5,604 miles on it! One owner, full service history! Yes I bought it immediately. I was cross shopping gated 430's that were 120 ish and GT3RS's that were the same. I have enjoyed the car too much to worry about the other choices which may have been wiser. Disclaimer: It was a dealer purchase and I got out the door for 93 after all the taxes, etc.
