Many of you guys know Gary from his shop on Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, it's been there since the 50's.

He, and his dad before him, have been in the biz for quite a while. A couple years ago, Gary decided to hang it up and retire.

Well, that retirement didn't last long. I ran into him this morning at Cars and Coffee and he was on his way "to the shop." After a brief conversation, he let me know that being retired was boring, and he's back at it.

There isn't a better car stereo guy in the business. He's put radios in my cars since the late '70's. 1st car he worked on for me was my 1978 280Z, and he's been sticking stereos in my cars ever since.

Ok, that's enough from me. for those of you who know Gary, he'd love to have you stop by and say hello. If you've NEVER met Gary, you need to make the time.

He's much too shy to post a self serving thread about what he does, I think he's maybe posted here a couple dozen times, but he's a great guy, superior installations tech, and a Ferrari nut to boot.

If you want to see the most original 308 on the planet, ask Gary to roll his out for you.

And last thing. I'm gonna whine at him and make him sponsor a Saturday get together at his shop for us. OH GARY, if you see this post, stand by for a barrage of Ferrari nuts coming your way soon.

So here's a weird **** thing that happened here.

I get an email about a post in this thread, I won't say here who it was. He asked a question about Gary's ability to work on his older Ferrari. I go to look for it here his morning, it's gone.

However, I think it was a good question, so I'm gonna answer it anyway.

Gary has been installing radios in Ferraris forever. Algar has used him since the early 70's, and I bet is still referring owners to him today.

When I bought my Dino, it needed new door panels, they'd been mangled by the last owner who installed big ass ugly speakers in them, So I ordered up about $1500 worth of new ones from Reoriginals with the intention of installing them myself. I thought about it for a while, then I chickened out and called Gary, asked if he could install them, with new speakers and make it look correct.

He did the rest, got the correct screws, got speakers that fit the doors, wired in the old amp that was in the glove box, etc. Car was a 99 point concours car, and the point I lost had nothing to do with the doors, or the stereo, trust me. He even helped me find a period correct radio for it, and a guy who could put modern guts in the old shell, make it look original, but it worked like a new radio.

So, really long answer to the deleted question is YES, Gary can work on the old cars, make them look right but give you a radio that gives much better sound. IF you're so inclined.

Joe, it's there, you just have to have a car long enough to figure out how to turn it on!
