I'm considering purchasing a Gallardo, and I have seen references to a front-end lift system on MY05 cars. Do MY04 cars have it also? Is the system standard or an option? How much additional ground clearance do they buy? I have a relatively steep driveway, and I am concerned that I will scape the chin everytime I go in and out of my garage.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Welcome to the board. I just bought a G myself.

Lift system is only available on the MY05's, not MY04's. Understand there is a possibility to get the option retrofitted on MY04's in RoW but not for the US.

Lifts chin by about 3 inches.

I use mine all the time to get in and out of my driveway and works like a charm.

Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    Best.

ghost -- Thank you very much for the reply.

It's good to know the system works well. Too bad about the system not being on MY04 cars, though. I guess I'll have to look for an 05. It seems like there is an abundance of 04's out there, but not that many 05's. And it looks like Domani Motors has the corner on the 05 market.

    Anybody know anything about Domani?

    Thanks again,
    Jeff

    Jeff,

I do know of a great 04 for sale - the guy that has it up for sale (a great guy btw) has a new Gallardo Spyder coming... errr that is me.. :) :) :)

Front end lifts are for Girls - it's all about going up at an angle... ;)

Ok - the front end lift is a nice addition to a car with 3.5 inches of ground clearance... Other than the Ballet that I do getting into my drive - i have not had a problem with speed bumps, etc. But I have a 4 inch lip on my driveway that I need to come in at an nice angle to avoid hitting the scratch plates...

    Be careful.

My 2004 Gallardo arrived 3 days late and at four in the morning (without warning). The driver backed the car off the ramp and it stalled. I restarted and the engine sounded horrible and stalled again. My heart sank. It was paid for and already mine… turns out they sent the car completely on an empty tank. Major pain to get it primed and started again.

Then two days after getting it, car will not start and I am stuck in a parking lot at 9 pm. Had to have it trucked up to dealer... bad battery. $1200 for battery and labor. Again, Domani will not reimburse. Said warranty will cover... Todd at Lamborghini Boston said no way.

Breaks start squeaking… same deal. Have not got it fixed yet, but estimate to repair is $1000.

Two weeks later the car FAILS INSPECTION. So I am driving around with a REJECTED sticker. Car is off to Lambo Boston tommorow. No idea what is next...

I had one scheduled with the gracious help of board member FL 355 but Michael from Domani decided to ship the car the day before. My problems are not the end of the world, but still a major inconvenience and money out of pocket that I was not planning for.

    Hi Billy

That was so strange -don't know if it was an accident or intentional by the dealer.

    Here's what I know.

Billy needs a PPI. I hook him up with my mechanic, who is one of the best in the country IMHO.

I go to the mechanic on the day of the PPI so I can give Billy my $.02 on the visuals and because I was simply interested in seeing the car. Get there and no car....

Shop calls dealer, dealer forget to schedule tow truck, said they will do it tomorrow. I was told the salesman was "off" that day.

Next day, salesman comes to work, sees the car and assumes passed PPI and all is good. Then he puts it on a truck to Boston!

What's even stranger, if I recall correctly, you had not wired the final funds yet and he already shipped it...

    Just adds to the saga....

Jeez, sorry to hear about the bad luck...I have been looking at there silver 04 for a little bit now. The sales man I had talked to was very rude so I decided to hang off for now and keep looking. Does this failed inspection mean you have no warranty now or what?

Car still has warranty but I don’t want to speculate too much as to what the problem may be. Always a chance that it is nothing major. Here’s hoping anyway.

As for Michael not knowing if the PPI that was scheduled had really taken place? Load of stinky poo. I TOLD him it was not done. He said do not worry as they did one there… now I may have been born yesterday but it was not at night! Why would I even consider accepting a PPI done from the dealer??? Too late I am told, car has shipped. Which is the next pile of kaa-kaa. Because when Exotic Transport got here he told me what day he picked up the car from Domani. In the beginning I liked Michael but he moves too quickly for my taste with loads of car-salesman-pressure. Now, I know I was told things untrue.

So far, damage is minimal and out of pocket is more annoying than anything. A dead battery, an empty fuel tank and a late delivery is just bad customer service, not a bad car. But I left negative feedback on eBay last week as I gave them over 60 days to make good on the out of pocket expenses (I even choked and said I’d split it 50-50). No response… They see the negative feedback and hit the roof, and now all of a sudden I get calls back... Domani has tried everything to get the feedback removed (Square Trade, meditation, crying to eBay, etc.) but there is nothing they can do without me taking part.

I emailed Michael yesterday and tried to bait the hook. I am shopping for a 2005 Murci and they have a roadster I like. I asked that since there was nothing “wrong” mechanically with the Gallardo I bought from them, they should take it as partial trade. No reason not too… as always I come pre-approved with financing and would even be a little bit upside-down on the deal. Provided that the Murci arrived here in Boston (after a true PPI this time) and there were no problems, I would move to have the negative feedback removed…

    Not a peep from them.

Since leaving the negative feedback (I listed my email address) I have already spoken to six potential buyers. I have been fair and honest when recounting the details and have told everyone to make their own decision in the end.

There ‘ya go! Take it or leave it!

(Maybe the G-Car is just mad at me for driving in the snow? After all it is a Florida car)

hey, I did notice that negative feedback before u said anything but I didnt think or have any idea it was from you. I did see there response, what a joke. Just because its a new car doesnt mean it cant have problems. Are they not going to take it in on trade even though you just bought it? I believe it was michael that I had spoke to and I didnt like they way he was, VERY high pressure sales man type, no need for that type of behavior when I already knew what I wanted. I dont even get that type of behavior at cadillac. sheesh...There prices were a little high and they didnt seem like they wanted to deal much. Can I ask wether you used there financing or did you arrange your own? They said they had a few choices but I never got that far with them.

also, notice how all of a sudden after you left your feedback they get a bunch of positives in a row for cars that just ended the same day..seems a little odd to me, like they are having others bid just to leave feedback.

Billy, FWIW, you did exactly the right thing. It seems that you gave Domani more than enough opportunity to right the wrongs they did for you. While none of the problems you note are serious, they all seem incredibly irritating nuisances that one shouldn't have to deal with when buying a $175K car. And even if they were inadvertantly caused (given Domani the benefit of the doubt here, although it seems clear that they lied to you), Domani should have bent over backwards to make it right. Negative feedback serves them right.

I spoke with Domani briefly when my hunt was on. Was neutral on the salesman, but felt they were smoking something strong on the prices. Found a newer, no-issues car for $20K less. However, they are fortunate to benefit from the Miami connection. As you can see, there is always somebody willing to pay above-market prices for lack of knowledge (or no lack of money).

    Good luck with everything.

    (sorry for the thread hijak!)

    Thanks Ghost....

I actually did finally hear from Michael yesterday. We spoke for awhile and I was impressed with all that he said (or didn't say). He backed off the high-pitch sales tone, and for the first time ever he actually just listened. He said they’ll do anything they can to make it right including getting me into the roadster (below) so let’s see what tomorrow brings… too bad it had to get to negative feedback and a little mud-slinging. We’ll see...

But if this story does have a happy ending there is a very cool twist to it... stay tuned.

Just in time for summer... well, close.

Lift is now standard on US Gallardos and optional on Australian cars (and Gallardos in most other markets).

Avalon, I found Domani's response to your feedback quite funny. Particularly how they spelled 'Ludicrous' :

"Reply by domanimotors: Ludacris! A BRAND NEW car, 100% factory warranty? Willing to help, never contace "
