These cars are now in the $75 to 100K range ... but as we all know it's the cost of ownership that's important ... do these cars have weak points that lead to huge repair bills? how about the routine stuff? Thinking of going down this path rather than F car had 3 of those already.

Dealer told me that you should change all fluids and checkup every year, that runs about $1500+. Don't break anything and you should be fine. :) These are the Hondas of the exotic world but if they do break it can cost $$$. A manual car is cheaper to run than an egear. New egear clutch is about 10k installed, but at least the engine doesn't come out and also there are no ****ing belts to change! Biggest thing is how you use the car, beat on it and your going to spend some money.

These cars to my knowledge do not have the same requisite list of issues that require sorting as many Ferraris (no offense i own two 90's era Ferraris so i am allowed to bag on them - and in fairness to F, the 360 was better, 430 was much better, and so on).

So that leaves maintenance costs. Clutches probably the biggest item.

The car burns oil (not a fault - it is in the owner's manual and they tell u how much it burns over what miles). The only issues i am aware of is from owners not paying attention to oil levels. So look for that service history.

    I have owned a 2004 and a 2010 Galardo. I now have a 2013 Aventador

I agree with this post. I am not sure what "Honda of the exotic car world" means. I probably do not agree. may Be i am taking the post to literal.

Routine oil changes are in the Mid $650 US $.

Someone mentioned leather. Italian leather is silky buttery smooth. The downside is it wears out on both Lambo and Ferrari. It does not bother me it is just ambiance or personality.

If you have an accident it is really expensive. S AN EXAMPLE A 5 inch scratch on my 458 WAS $7,000 TO FIX USA $. and that was the cheapest of my three options.

It is definitely not a car for parking in Walmart. For some reason it attracts old people with purple hair and plastic purses. They just have to park next to you. Sounds like a joke but it seems to work that way even if you are the only car in a big parking lot, here comes that Lincoln to park next to you!

AS one poster said the newer cars where Audi owns Lamborghini are better. It took Audi a year or more to get the issues out of the car, mostly to make the car more robust.

My experience has been if you drive the car like a gentleman it will be fine. If you drive the car like a Corvette it will be expensive. My friend burned out his clutch in 200 miles on a brand new car. Corvettes are a tough as an anvil if you beat them they just smile. You can enjoy the power of the exotics just not abuse the mechanics which are a work of art.

    Good luck whatever you buy.

It mostly refers to the cars usability / daily driver qualities and not meant as a negative in any way.

How can an oil change possibly run $650? I never paid that on a Ferrari.

$400 seems to be the normal cost from a Lamborghini dealer. There is a bit of a procedure to changing and checking the oil level on these cars. It's can be a DIY job if you don't mind dealing with the 10-10.5 L of oil and buying a special wrench for the oil filter, oh and don't forget the second drain plug!

I agree it is expensive but thats the number. MY Lamborghini Adventador is $675 for an oil change. These are all at the dealers you can find independent shops that charge less. The trick is to find shops who know the cars. Even European car shops may not know the exotics.

I had my Turbo 911 Porsche oil changed at a local shop. He put to much oil in the car and I was blowing blue oil smoke for a few weeks.

I had another small shop put synthetic oil in my 1965 Vette instead of the petroleum oil it requires. He even argued with me. I think of this shop owner as very smart. The learning point is not everybody knows everything. To be safe I change the oil on both my 1954 and 65 Corvettes.

The good news is my C7 Vette I get free oil changes for 3 years. I think my 2015 Z/28 is the same.

I like your number better :) I suspect each area has different price points depending on different factors.

MY Mosler just cost $650 to have an oil change and rebuild an idle pulley. The Idle pulley has plagued the car almost since I bough it new. The good news is now it is fixed.

Depending on the year and mileage but IMHO $104k for an LP560 roadster is quite a good price.

Can't stand the gallardo. Lambo outside, Audi inside. Just can't get past the parts bin feel of the car. It's really nothing speacial at all and not worth half what they charge for these things. To each his own, but a name and a badge seems to mean a lot to some people. Carry on..

Thats got to be a typo. No LP anything for 80k unless it's a beatin salvage title car.

I've owned several Gallardo's over the past 8 years. The cars are rock solid.
Oil filter and gasket is about $100 plus @10 quarts of oil.
My Porsche dealer charged me two hrs - $210.00
So $400 for an oil service is not out of line.

If budget permits, buy anything from 09 and newer. The egear trans
    is much improved.

I changed my own oil..no big deal, same with the transmission oil, brake line flush and coolant...never used much oil either, and plugs especially on the left bank were a pain as you have to loosen up the engine mount to the firewall and move it aside..still a DIY..
My only problems were with a leaky crank shaft seal, easy to replace, as its the front...
Lamborghini wanted to use up their old stock and kept sending me old junk..3 seals and I finally had it fixed, I had a leaky AC fitting in the tunnell also that was an easy fix..
