    Hello everyone.

I recently bought a Scrape Armor from my F8. I had it delivered to the shop. I confirmed it's arrival with the shop owner. However, he told me I did not need it because the car had one installed. He says is is not OEM. that is is "third party". I did not order any scrape guard to be placed on the car and I really doubt it was done without my consent or even as a courtesy (Ferrari does not have that word in their vocabulary). I just wonder if he may be wrong. I asked him for pictures and it indeed looks like there is some basic cheap looking plastic riveted and screwed. I can't tell if this is OEM or was indeed third party, as he says. However, I still find it nearly impossible.

I told him to check and see whether he can in stall the Scrape Armor over the existing part or if he may have to remover it. I honesty, would prefer the Scarpe Armor.

Has anybody taken a look at their car and noticed whether there is a factory scrape guard under their front bumper/lip?

    I am including pictures,

My dealership suggested for me to purchase a scrape armour and they have it now waiting for my F8 to come in. Let me know what you find out because I'm curious if I spent $700 for no reason.

When I bought my 458 Italia (used, not from the factory), I was never told it had a front skid plate either. I was waiting for the transport truck stuff and while looking at photos of the car, I happened to notice something was poking out from under the front lip. So I called the dealer and asked what was up. Turns out, the previous owner had installed a skid plate and the dealer failed to mention it to me (or in the listing on their website).

Initially, I was sort of pissed that this wasn't disclosed, because I didn't really want a car which had had holes drilled into the front lip, etc.

The dealer said it was very nice skid plate and he would have it on his car no problem, so I decided to wait and see what it looked like once the car arrived in person.

Man, oh man. It turned out to be the best upgrade ever. My 458 didn't have a lift and due to that skid plate, it really never needed one. I can't count the number of times that skid plate came in handy and allows me to traverse dips and driveways.

Anyway, I'll be interested to find out how it ended up on GT2goneF's F8, if he didn't order it, that's for sure.

Does any one have any feedback on Scrape Armor for an F8 or any other Ferrari? I would be curious as to anyone's feedback.

I reached out to a Scrape Armor distributor who told me that there are other similar products on the market, but less expensive. I am not sure how much less expensive. He also implied that you get what you pay for and Scrape Armor makes a great product. Seems like for $700 it might be worth the peace of mind to have it for that one time when you really need it and don't want to worry about scraping up the bottom of the front lip. Installation certainly seems straight-forward.

For others who might be interested, I spoke to Scrape Armor. They emailed the installation instructions and this link to an installation video. The video features an Acura NSX, but evidently the process is similar for the F8.

Unfortunately, for the F8 there are a few holes that need to be drilled. According to the rep, the only way for the company to guarantee the product on any type of high performance vehicle is to use a combination of the existing screws and a few new ones - Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren, etc. all require a few holes to be drilled (The C8 does not). With adhesive tape, there is always the possibility of the tape giving out at high speeds. See attached installation instructions.

To me, those holes look like they should have had countersunk bolts used, not button head. I think if it were me, I'd want 316SS under there to hole everything on. It's a little hard to tell from the photos, but aren't the holes in the ABS countersunk? I could be wrong.
