+911 I had to play forza 3 just to hear the yell of a V10 from a CGT and the noice the GT3RS makes. Going back and playing FM3 showed me how much Turn 10 improved the game.
So I was playing around tonight and wanted to create something a little more fun. I drive an STI and have my collection of Subaru's in the Garage and wanted to create a fun Breast Cancer theme as I am a huge supporter. That's a pretty crap list to be honest, doesn't seem like there is anything new, at least not anything significant.
Yep it is a pretty weak list when you think of all the Porsche possibilities. My understanding is T10 had to work really hard to get some sort of licensing agreement with EA and I'm sure they were limited on what EA allowed them to use. It was announced there would be 30 cars and 7 will be brand new to the Forza franchise. Here is a list of 6 of the 7 " new " cars. I don't know which one is the seventh. So there will be a 997 GT2 RS and a 997 GT3 RS? I think I saw something about the GT3 RS being a 997.1 so not even a 997.2 or 4.0. Kind of pathetic if you asked me. Still better than nothing.
I used to be one of those guys that thought all Porsches were basically the same 911. Then I went to Rennsport at Daytona back in 2007 and it really opened my eyes. Walking around the garage and watching many of them take laps around the track was amazing. I was really hoping they would find a way to get more into Forza 4 so I could get a feel for what I saw that day. It would be so cool to get an idea as to what it would be like to get behind the wheel of a 917 Here's a few pics I took that day and some other cars we'll have to wait a little longer for. That makes the pack expensive. Importing cars from FM3 would of taken 4.2seconds. It should be 1200 reg and 800 for VIP. They are just milking us. The deal would of been done with M$ execs so I doubt they worked really hard for anything The fact is that M$ has the exclusive rights to Ferrari(PC and XBOX) so I doubt any money changed hands. I'll still get it but I'm not a fan of current DLC practices, yeap make money but don't milk us Err it was confirmed a while ago that Horizons was open world edit: Nice pics
I honestly don't think I'll be buying this. I don't care about either of the new cars and I can just go play with the others in FM3 for a whole lot cheaper.
No cars were imported from Forza 3. Every one had to be remodeled to go with the updated physics. That is why tunes were not available to import from your Forza 3 files but vinyls were. Sound was redesigned as well. Add in Autovista for several models and there was indeed a lot of work done to get the cars as they appear in Forza 4. I hope they worked really hard on the Carrera GT because I'm gonna make it scream
4REphotographer: going by the Xmas rort of season pass, it will prob be half price in 2mths time Err no. The cars are imported. You can look at the models if you want. There is an extractor tool out (some people do this so they can export the cars to rFactor/other PC games with cars ). From that community only 26 cars from FM3 to FM4 have a much higher poly-count. The game engine has been improved esp lighting and reflections so FM4 just looks better without making any touch ups. Yes the Autovista cars have a much higher polycount. Around 1mill compared to the 500k~ for in game cars but they can't reproduce the same amount of polys when you are racing. There is only a dozen autovista cars so it wouldn't of taken that much time to scan those cars if they hadn't done so before. The tunes/physics have nothing to do with the car models. These variables can be edited at any time. That's one thing I miss about PC gaming, the modding community. Exactly you could import the vinyls because the models were the same They did the same thing with the aftermarket rims. The way they record the engine sounds has been the same since the 90's. They put the car on a dyno and "push it to the limit". The sounds are better because Turn10 changed the way the edited them with licensed plugins/new sound engineer. Not all the cars sound realistic most likely because they just carried them over. There was cars from FM2 put into FM3 and now FM4. If they started from scratch every time it would take more than 2years to make the game. I'm not saying they didn't touch up or edit some of the models/UV maps/textures between the games(ok maybe more than 4.2s ), I'm saying they didn't actually go out and physically scan the cars again. It's quite clear the game is more 3.5 than a 4. The same goes for this Porsche pack. So after hearing about some of the cars in the Porsche pack I decided to pony up the money and order it. The nice thing that T10 did was include a multitude of bumpers, hoods and side skirts to give many more cars than they really did. For instance you can make a stock 964 or a 964 Turbo or a 964 RS out of the 930 Turbo. Or you can have a 911E out of a '73 RS or you can make a 993 Turbo out of the 993 GT2. It's not perfect, but it's certainly nice to have some more options. All I've ever wanted out of Forza is a normal 911 Carrera and at least now I can have one in looks.
I'm so bummed. I can't download it because my Internet is down. It was supposed to be resolved by friday but I guess not. I've been looking forward to this pack for a while.
D/L the pack now. Luckily with the achievements you can do private race with AI and you don't have to race ppl online to win...
