I have no reason to watch Speed TV on Sunday mornings. As of this post, there is 90 days, 19 hours, and about 49 minutes left before I can hear and visualize the new Ferrari V-8 at Bahrain.

My natural alrm clock causes me to wake on Sundays at 6:30AM. I automatically reach for the TV remote. Now, all I get is the local newscasters talking about some sort of fog. Or a nonsensical infomercial on all the cable stations. I have outgrown Barnie. And I realize I have to turn off the TV before Meet The Press, or I will go throught the day really pissed. So what am I to do with my Sunday mornings for the next three months?

    Keep my fingernails short.

At least I know that the Pope recently met the team, so maybe with his blessing, 2006 will not be so disappointing.

But then I am not Catholic.

    Downtime from F1 sucks .. I agree ...

However Speed is now broadcasting snippets from other racing that I catch up with that is usually missed during the F1 season - like German Touring Cars, Porsche Supercup, A1 GP, Australian V8 Supercars, and BTCC, etc.

The worst part is , speed tv could run some programs about F1,anything! Instead they're running bobsledding for heavens sake! If not that it's nascar poker, nascar home redecorating, etc you get my drift.

A1 GP has definitely taken up the slack during the F1 off season. After all the great racing thus far with this series it makes F1 look like a track day lead and follow session.

I am really disapointed with Speed TV job of covering the offseason of F1. They have 200 shows dedicated to Nascar, and they constantly are showing replays! I think they need a few F1 shows to supplement the Nascar! Maybe a news show dedicated to the ongoings in F1, for F1 to grow in the US it needs more coverage.

At least you guys HAVE Speed. This summer I use to get up to watch the races on sunday morning and then go to work and beg to be put to fold clothes (which is unbarebly boring) just to watch the replay of the races on Speed on the display TV's.

But now I have nothing, no F1, no access to A1 GP. At least when I'm home for the holidays I'll have family, friends, sex, a car and gifts to keep me busy but i'll still miss F1. :(

Honestly, the reason there's so much NASCAR coverage is that NASCAR and the teams and the drivers allow the TV crews a ton of access. There's just not that kind of visibility into F1

Sadly that's true. Still Speed TV could do a better job. There is news out of the F1 paddock on a weekly basis. And then there are plenty of races/championships from the past they could rebroadcast.

But it is a buyer's market. I'm sure if there were more demand for it, they'd air it.

Will do. Only cockpit view of course. :)

Luckily a lot of the usual clutter can be turned off. Including all the unrealistic driving aids. At that point the game gets fairly hard and similar to F1 2002 Challenge. The difference being of course updated tracks, teams, drivers, rules and graphics, which are quite good.

Setupwise the game uses about half as many parameters as F1 2002 Challenge in advanced mode (more than Challenge in basic mode), which is more than I ever wanted to fiddle with. To make life easier I converted all my Challenge settings over into PS2 settings. Not ideal since tracks and cars evolved, but a starting point. Also the game allows very simple setup modes where you define only a few parameters and the software does the rest. Akind to what the engineers do when they have a clueless driver...:)

F1 Live just posted that Speed has the conctract for F1 again this coming season. the good news is that they're expanding Peter Windsor's role and will have a live camera on the grid for interview purposes prior to each race. Just one more tiung to look forward to in March. Does anyone know if Speed is planning coverage of the GP Masters events? I would love to see those races.

The best anyone could find on the GP Masters coverage was highlights on ESPN :(

Also it appears that CBS will again get 4 races to cover live. I cannot for the life of me see of what benefit it is to CBS to do only 4 races and they don't even do the US GP.

Tell Linda I said hi and give her a hug for me.

    OH NO!!! THE HORROR!!!!

I can see it again: We'll have an Amtrak accident and the local CBS affiliate will report live from the scene for 4 contiguous hours instead of the GP. I know they will. They always do. :(

Its really worth to not watch it on delay when CBS airs it and wait till friday when Speed airs it with their anouncers. CBS's coverage is god awful.
