The sheer magnitude/scale of LH’s self-perfectionism is likely difficult for you to countenance. And he wears his heart on his sleeve. Ergo, it’s not a matter of him being an ingrate, etc. In fact, here’s what LH posted on social media a few hours ago: “Failure never feels good but it provides us with opportunities for growth and lessons to learn. We have struggled this weekend, for many different reasons but we win and we lose together. We unite and work on being better every time. Tomorrow will be tough, so if you got time, do a little rain dance for me let the heavens open“
I'm fully aware that Mathieu is French himself. It is a friendly joke, not quite sure why I have to explain this to you. If you have a problem with it, by all means report it. Alternatively, work on your sense of humour, or mute me, whatever works better for you.
Some here have some difficulties with second-degree humor. Their confusion is such that they imagine that Lewis’s criticisms are all racist villains. Please do not change anything Bas !
Lest we forget: Monaco often (regularly) produces "controversial" qualifying sessions. Remember Schumi getting stuck at Rascasse in 2006, raising a huge stink? And then both Kimi and Massa wound up parking their Ferraris in the same place in later years? Naturally Max isn't screaming too much. He crashed in exactly the same place in 2018 FP3, keeping him out of qualifying. But qualifying is where drivers are pushing to the limits ... and beyond. Naturally there are lots of crashes in qualy. If you have 23 minutes to spare, here's a 2017 video of F1 quali crashes: I've noticed that FIA is pretty quick to call red flags, lately, compared to previous eras. Of course, at Monaco, there aren't a lot of other options, as the cars have no place to wind up but on the track. But FIA might be more sensitive since Bianchi crashed into a crane removing another car. Whenever a session is red flagged, everyone launches into "what if" mode. But then you could play, "what if" we had better engines, or aero, or mechanical grip? "What if" Monaco had more run-off areas? It's sad when "stuff happens", but it happens to everyone. C'est la guerre. And, realistically, the only "show" we missed was seeing everyone else fall short. Charles had already laid down a 1:10.346 -- the fastest time of the weekend, by a notable margin. Unlikely anyone could have surpassed that, at least without a millimeter perfect run. And "perfect" runs are few and far between at Monaco. While imperfect "stuff" happens often.
Is it just me that thinks it’s odd that instead of ferrari fans going crazy with happiness at ferrari being on pole, many chose to just take a pop at Hamilton, Merc, Verstappen and various others for no reason in particular?! Very odd. Next, we might as well debate why Iceland were robbed of victory in Eurovision, and how terrible the winning Italian song was. Seriously, ferrari in pole! It’s a ******** miracle! Let’s at least be happy about that whilst the glory is still fresh.
Absolutely not, this reaction is directly suggested by some pilots who openly declared that it cost them pole (which remains to be demonstrated) and by Mr.Wolff and his unhealthy innuendoes.
You would have thought given their lacklustre performance Toto/Merc/Hamilton would be thanking Ferrari for keeping Max off pole. For me - Max, pole or bin it. Charles, hold my beer !
Although the Red Bull may be quicker and Verstappen faster, I prefer a Ferrari on pole than Max, any day.
I think Sainz Jr was quite disappointed by the Red Flag, thinking he had a chance to better Leclerc's time.
Been the same since day 1. Great driver and unfailingly cringeworthy. The height of his “team” acknowledgement at Monaco no less. Absolutely disgraceful. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rumour has it Lawrence stuck a gerbil up his backside, hence the increased performance.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, it looks like I was right. The gearbox was damaged, and Ferrari gambled on it. Another failure from the management.
"Getting stuck" is not the proper verb, here, the proper verb is "deliberately rashed". While driving at race pace during a red flag to catch the back of the pack in the rain on slicks.
wow, just saw the F1 highlights from the race, and there was a pass! Lap one, Ocon moved up one into St. Devote, and then GIO passed OCO on the OUTSIDE of Mirabeau! https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/video.top-10-onboard-moments-monaco-gp-2021.1700729578656345671.html
