Yes, definitely. Not 100% sure about the latter item, though your efforts there are definitely noteworthy. Enlightening even.

It was very clear that passing in Monaco for the current F1 cars was impossible. AWS statistic: 0% chance of an overtake. I fully understand why Ferrari took the gamble, as long as Leclerc could have been kept running (at the speed of the pit limit even :D), he would have had a podium for sure. If there is no longer a gap to exist, can you still call it a race?

All of this is wrong as Charles proved last year with a couple of amazing overtakes. yes, these cars are crap and should be at least a meter shorter with much smaller wings, but really good drivers can still do it...but we have very few of those, Charles, max and Ricci are probably the only ones capable of doing it.

I wish this was a place where someone like you would show up a lot more and share your valuable and knowleadgeable opinions (unlike the hord of Trolls that runs free around these places) with the rest of us Tiffosi, i understand the current Mercedeschat format doesn't apeal to you ;)

As much as LH might say silly things RedBull are as bad on their own. The win is important but its not a defining moment given the type of circuit the teams face. RedBull just needed a win for confidence yes. They actually need a car that can win at most circuits. That has not been shown. Spain was very telling I think. Also who crashed and did not start - **Charles. With Charles on pole I dont see a Max win given how well Carlos did. RedBull should be polite and remember they were almost gifted this win with an accident.

Too bad we know the Flex wing item will be looming over Baku as Toto has issued a firm threat. Certainly not a boring season overall for us here.

Yes but unlike in any previous Monaco race I can remember, there wasn’t even the hint of a car menacingly chasing the car in front, expect maybe GIO tailing OCO. This is either down to 1/ cars affected by dirty air, 2/ drivers not trying and just waiting for pit stops or 3/ the cars were lined up in order of their race speed so nobody was catching the guy in front.

Indeed, I only remember the end of the race in 1992 when Mansell with new tyres and an ultra dominating williams couldn’t overtake Senna. It’s congenital to this track.

    Quote from automotorundsport.

    Quote

Analysis at the factory revealed a tiny crack in the wheel hub where the drive shaft attaches. The shaft itself was fine. The damage could only have been detected with a pinpoint inspection, for example by ultrasound

But none of the engineers could imagine that this component, of all things, could have received anything from the impact that was introduced into the opposite wheel when it hit the guard rail at the second swimming pool ben

forces could have been transmitted through the driveshaft into the gearbox / diff, out the other side via the good drive shaft and cracked the hub. Lame excuse really imho. More likely it screwed up the internals after a run. Lesson learnt i hope!

Honestly, do you really believe Mercedes or Red Bull would have done better with this kind of problem ?

Monaco stays, simply reduce the wheelbases to 96" and it all works out.
