But in the larger sense, the pairing works well for Mercedes. Bottas brings the required results. There is zero reason to release him. Others post he is terrible and should be replaced. Thats simply silly. Its not about LH being faster etc, but about what results are made by Bottas. He brings wins, podiums and points.

Turns 9 and 15 are being specifically observed for exceeding track limits

It’s so technical and fast that there won’t be much wheel to wheel action, except down the start/finish straight into T1. That stretch would seem enough with DRS, imo.

The criticism is unwarranted, I agree. I think it speaks more to people wanting to see Hamilton stopped and Bottas being the only one to have a legitimate chance (being in the same car). I think that, realistically, LH is at the top of his game though...not much VB can do to stop him

So the talking points for tomorrow will be how soon Hammy overtakes Val Terry and who gets penalized for exceeding track limits. Fun . . . .

A very, very beautiful piece of real estate. We've got that going for us.

Power deficit more evident here for Charles than last week but still head and shoulders above teammate.

Nothing to do with the paint colours; it's the sensors placed in different corners that give the verdict if a driver goes off track limits.

    Yes, it's rather surprising.

He needed to step down to a lesser team to get better results.

I think there is a story there; no one can match Verstappen at Red Bull.

The odd thing is Albon was much more competitive last season. This season he looks like one of those guys who pay for their seats and have marginal skills.

Perhaps the Alpha tauri is the second best car this year?
Don't see any logic between Gasly last year and this year performance wise..

Alexander Albon who was Red Bull wonder boy in 2019 is now their whipping boy in 2020.

In lap time, Albon is not worse compared to Verstappen than last year. But now the middle class is closer to Red Bull, so 4 tenths mean a lot in grid position. Then he has to fight in the middle of the pack, the pressure rises and **** happens.

For some reason the only practice session was not recorded on ESPN...but qualifying proved to be nothing new. If I was Alfa or Hass I'd fire my drivers right now and start using the remaining races to audition new drivers for next season. I can't believe Perez will be without a drive for next year.

Verstappen looking more and more like Alonso where his car set up only suits him.
Only available driver I could see having enough experience and calm to follow his own set up direction is the Hulk. I think even Perez wouldn’t understand why he’d be slower and throw his toys/pram

Since he is hardly challenged by a team mate lately, Verstappen can blame the car.

But I still believe the RB is the second best car on the grid, and Max the closest to Hamilton in terms of raw speed.
