I have been following this car's history, seen it many times since I grew up in Detroit.
Am I to understand Dr. Fuchs, the prewar owner, took it to Japan or China before WWII? It's hard to believe he would take such a giant car there.

Also the original color scheme sounds sort of odd, wasn't it dark green with orange or red or black? I have seen pictures of it as a dark colored car and it doesn't look as good as it does with a light color.

When was the Esders Bugatti (light green) type 41 completed? Wasn't that postwar, years later? I have seen it at Pebble. Was that built on a leftover Type 41 chassis? Is it the same body style as the Cheyne car?
