For Sale - 1979 Ferrari 400i Chassis No. 27485

I find that this car's beautiful period gold color is so befitting on this Series I... It is a 5 speed with approximately 58K miles. The exterior looks very nice; unfortunately; no shots of the engine compartment are shown. The couple of pictures showing the interior likely means that the car received a respray at some point, but they neglected to tidy up the leather and seems needing some attention to match the exterior.

Details are scant and per my search feature on this forum, I was unable to find any prior information about this chassis. I also was unable to download any pictures, which happens to me every now and then, but here's the link:

Chassis 27485 has resurfaced and it looks to be in Belgium, but being offered by a US Dealer for just under $100K USD.

Unconventional and very rare "metallic gold" FERRARI 400 GT with beautiful aged cream leather interior with dark brown inlays. And real wood trim that decorates the high console and a traditional three spoke steering wheel that dominates the drivers view. The power comes from the renown and powerfull V12 front mounted engine with a capacity of 4823 cc, double overhead camshafts on each power bank and 2 valves per cylinder. Breathing through a set of 6 double Weber DCOE38 carburetors. Producing about 340 bhp. And attached to a 5 speed manual gearbox with a limited slip rear end.

The 400 family has the record of being in production for longer than any other Ferrari body style. The three box coupe styling from Pininfarina is a real child of the seventies. With distinctive wedge shapes and pop up head lamps. The gentle suprise of a slightly eccentric GT. And is definitely in vogue today. It had a sixteen year production run simply because customers were still buying them.

This 400 GT is one of the 142 built cars. (combination of manual gearbox and Weber carburetors). It wears chassis number F101CL27485; It is really super rare because a number of them have been broken up to use their mechanics in Daytona Spider replicas. Because they were the cheapest on the market.

In 2004 this car had a 24500 Swiss Franc service at Carrozzeria Ascari sa in Lugano, Switzerland. Including 4 tires, carburetor set up, adjusting valve clearance, all fluids and filters and reconditioning of the suspension.At that time it was registered on Brunelli-Boscaro Annie. In January 2011 it became part of a large private collection in Belgium. We sold her 3 years ago to a well known Belgium collector and he has swapped her for another car in our collection after driving her more than 5000 km in the past few years.

Despite being a heavy car the performance is still impressive. The manual version offers much of the same attributes as the earlier GT Ferraris for a much cheaper price. It really offers you a rewarding driving experience.

This metallic gold example is a real time wrap. Like a precious jewel. With some imagination you can see Alain Delon drive the car through the streets of Cannes of Monaco. With a cigarette between his lips and a beautiful lady in the passengers seat. A car like this who has enjoyed some loving attention could make a superb addition to someone"s collection. Nice color. Gold on 70/80s cars sometimes looks very charming. Looks like the door has been resprayed and they did not exactly matched the color?
