Does anyone know what the correct Fog / Driving light are for a 308 QV? Also it is a US spec car with the larger bumpers. There are two scallops in the bumper, but I would like to line the lights up under the headlights instead of closer together in the scalloped depressions of the bumper. Any ideas please?

Click on my profile and look at the picture. Where mine are are the best you can do without cutting and drilling.
Those two you see in the picture are simply mounted where the bumper shocks are. I just loosened the bumper eased it out a bit, slid the mounts (simply a straight flat piece of metal the lights are bolted to) in between the bumper and the shock stopper thing and tightened the bumper back down again.

Takes ten minutes if you are slow and is 100% reversible in less time than that. No holes, now screws no cutting, no nothing.

The correct lights are Cibie "Airport" compact spotlights - with a PITA and rare H2 bulb. The QV grill is shorter to allow them to mount. Mine had pitted reflectors, and they are rare and expensive, so I replaced with similar size Narvas with 100W halogen bulbs (H3), a relay, and separate switching so I can have them on with my high beams if I want. They still work as "flash to pass". The LED H3 lights are getting better and better, and I will replace with these when they get good enough.

The problem are those bottom elements on the US bumper. They are in the way to make it look "correct" if you will. That, and you need to cut your grill. Not sure that is the cheapest or easiest piece to find if you later wish you didn't.

I have toyed with the idea of doing this to mine about 4 million times but I just can't bring myself to break out the hacksaw. That is why I settled on the way you see it now. I know this isn't what you were asking for, it is just another idea to consider if you are okay with a compromise.

Thank you for the post. I was trying to mount the lights further outboard, but your suggestion sounds like a good solution, certianly easier. The lights themselves were Cibie, were they not? The glass lenses have a notch on either side where the screws go. I used to have a set of them back in Australia, only 1 has survived 20 years of travelling and 3 continents! Wish I could find another light. It has a chromed body.

Which Narva did you use? I'm having my flash-to-pass rigged to be on all the time, so this winter may take the stock ones off to save them, and replace with something brighter.

    Was it this one?

Can't remember exactly, but I did try and dry fit a few different ones before arriving at those particular ones. I think those were too big (180mm), and I went for the smaller size again - I took the Cibie Airport 35 light to the store to compare sizes.

I rigged them with an on-off-on switch, one side being on only with high beam, and the other side on by themselves - both switched via a relay off the ign circuit, so I wouldn't accidentally leave them on.
