Yup, that's me! Notice I still practice the lost art of using my turn signals before making a lane change...hahaha.
Oh yeah, that's definitely a lost art in Florida, along with the concept of people keeping right except to pass.
Over my stay at Florida, here is what I remember seeing: 40+ Bentley's 2 Lamborghini Gallardo's 4 Maserati Granturismo's 6 Maserati Quattraportes 2 Aston Martin Vantages 1 Aston Martin DB9 Volante 1 Aston Martin DBS Volante 1 Aston Martin DB5 Volante 1 Ferrari 360 Spyder 1 Ferrari 456 GT 1 Rolls Royce Ghost 2 Dodge Vipers 2 Mercedes SLS 1 Audi R8 V10 Tons of Old Rolls Royces Tons of Mercedes AMG's
Though it probably wasn't me you saw, I'm responsible for 1 R8 V10 Spyder and 1 Bentley Continental GTC Speed in Florida, very happy and proud to say. I'm one blessed and lucky guy. Beautiful cars, but I did not see those two while down there. That R8 V10 Spyder looks great with the color combination! Jared
Jared, as a recently relocated Marylander, I can understand Carcierge's statements. When sightings are less frequent they become more worthy of note relatively. When in this type of environment, like Hollywood maybe, sightings become so frequent as to become less of a special sighting. They simply become the norm. In this type of situation one becomes less enthused about reporting one. Then it might take a Daytona or Dino or TDF to get a mention. Certainly not a modern. I would rather report an XKE, Morgan or Lotus JPS in such situations as I believe they are appreciable and rarer than a bunch of moderns that are "normally seen every day" in numbers.
Oh. And today my neighbor two doors down shared with me his new purchase. A 2004 Corvette Z06 Commemorative car. Beautiful blue w special stripes and 2 LeMans wins placard w just 2500 miles and like new. I also saw a 16M and a 612 last week but the real thrill last week was seeing a perfect 1970 or so Buick GS. I saw him early in the day and drove alongside as he was on the phone and noticing my noticing. A couple hours later we were alongside and I had a chance to complement him on his car. He remembered me. I was driving the 456.
I do understand exactly what you are saying, but I took his comment as sarcastic because I been through Boca Raton for 5 minutes and I saw 5 exotics in that short space of time. I know there are even better places for exotics to look for but when I was in Florida, I was all "exoticed out" from all the cars I saw, without mentioning some amazing cars I saw at some dealerships and their customer cars. But thank you for the comment because you are entirely right since it depends on where you live and what you see in order for you to acknowledge certain cars on spotter threads. Thanks again. Jared
I saw Dennis Rodmans Black Bentley two days in a row at the Animal Kindom Lodge valet parking. He was at the pool, got in a huge drunken fight with his wife, then police escorted him out...ha
Hey guys! I will be going down to Florida in a couple weeks and I am wondering where are the good places to spot cars around the Miami area? Is summer a good time for car spotting in that region?
Well, given my experience when I was down there on Friday afternoon for a day trip, Miami Beach is a good place to start. I mean, while I was in Miami Beach I saw a Ferrari Spyder (I believe it was a 430, but I didn't get the best look. He was on Lincoln, looking for a spot to park around 2 PM), a Rolls Royce Phantom only a few years old at most, a Tesla Roadster with a license plate referencing that it's electric (which I presume is expected of a Tesla owner), AND a yellow Alfa Veloce. I don't know if anyone here owns any of those vehicles, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Bal Habour Shops, South Beach (Ocean Dr, Lincoln, etc), and a trip north to Ferrari Ft Lauderdale is definitely worth it.
Silver Carrera GT on my way to school on Lake Worth road at about 7:10. Unbelievable. Especially in a school zone at 20mph in 1st gear
I didn't mean to be flip. Truth is I see a dozen exotics a day and my total commute is less than 10 miles round trip. Heck, I can usually see half a dozen interesting cars in the parking lot, if I have lunch at the club. Not denigrating anybody's "spots," but it is more difficult to find a Chevrolet in Boca than a late model Ferrari. When I had a Civic, it was the only Honda registered at my club - there are dozens of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins ... . I'm just sayin. Scottie
I saw a red 512 TR , a red 430 coupe and a black SLS last night in Armonds circle in Sarasota. Then later that evening saw a red/tan 360 spider. What a great night!
+1...Thus, why I never post in this thread; I think it's kind of silly in FL. I see exotics EVERY day. There's a white Phantom in my neighborhood that always catches my attention.
