Anyone use the stuff?
This morning on the road, someone I passed yelled at me to go Flax myself so I guess it's really working!
Whole flax seeds (not ground, not oil) pass through the body mostly undigested. To get the presumptive benefits (omega 3 fatty acids, lignins, fiber) either oil or ground is the way to go.
In order to gain the chloesterole lowering effects of flax seed it must be ground up in your coffee grinder first. As posted earlier whole seeds pass right thru you and are of little benefit. Mix a table spoon with your oatmeal every morning. It helped me.
I swear by Liquid chilled Flax oil....If Taken on a regular long term program, you will live 10 extra painfree years... Great for aching joints ,it is arthritis 's only hope. I have seen it work for my elders...I will follow suit.
I put Flaxseed Oil in my protein shake every morning. And I use it on salads. Just remember not to use it for cooking as it will lose it's effectiveness. Can be purchased everywhere GNC, Trader Joes, Whole Foods or even most Groc. stores.

I use it everyday in liquid form (much higher in strength). Its the best out there right now for joints....
Me too. I put water, chocolate protein powder, flax seed oil, oatmeal and frozen strawberries in a blender and drink it on my way out the door every morning..
I used to take the Oil itself, one tablespoon a day But now this is what I'm taking, twice a day. Available at Costco. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Flax seed oil gives your body the Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) that your body needs. Much like Fish Oil, the flax oil is beneficial for many metabolic functions and ideally gives your body the lubrication it needs such that your liver may produce less of the bad cholesterol as well. Co-Q10 is also a good thing to take as well....it's a heart-beneficial anti-oxidant and has great benefits as well, ESPECIALLY if you are taking lipitor, crestor and other cholesterol-reducing medications. Whole Foods has some primo-quality cold-processed Flax Seed Oil...
