I used to store both of my Ferraris in my garage, but now that I'm splitting my time between Laguna Beach and Park City I need a place to store my cars in Orange County. I started searching around last year, and I was surprised (and disappointed) at how limited the options were.

Good news!!! I found a really nice car storage facility in Costa Mesa (right next to John Wayne Airport) called Hopalong Auto Storage. I put both of my Ferraris over there a few month ago, and I've gotten to know the owner (Mike Andrews) pretty well. He's exactly the guy I want running a car storage facility. He's "hands on". He's a car guy. He's customer-oriented, and he cares.

I was just over there today (see picture below of my Speciale) and Mike mentioned that he has some space available. I wanted to post something right away on fchat before the Porsche guys around Orange County find out about this place. LOL. I told Mike that he's going to need to expand his facility after the guys on Fchat find out about him.

BTW, his storage facility is so clean that you could eat off the floor! The pace also has security cameras so you can look at your car anytime on your smartphone.

My only complaint is that somehow a german flag ended up on the wall behind my Speciale :-j

    I think it's $300 per month and maybe multi-car discounts..not sure.

I haven't found anything for less... One place I found in the Newport Beach area was also $300 per month, but it was a really dingy facility. But I was desperate so I rented a spot. I put my brand new Speciale in there for a week. When I picked it up there was oily goo splattered all over my car and the car's parked near me. It had rained and this old facility roof leaked and it wasn't just water but goo. I was really upset, but fortunately a detailer was able to clean up the mess completely. The storage company was mortified and they took full responsibility and paid for the detail. But I immediately started searching for a better facility. I was so happy when I found Hopalong Auto Storage. I'm happy to pay $300 per month. I feel like I'm getting good value for the money.

BTW, I may spend some time in Scottsdale AZ, so I called two car storage places there figuring I'd find some good rates given it's in the middle of the desert. Wrong. They wanted around $450 per month. I still can't believe it.

Great info! And thanks for passing it along. If there was a place like this north of LA, the $300 would be the inexpensive part...

I was there yesterday. It's almost full...a few spots open. But I think they are planning an expansion. One guy is storing six cars. I'd like to have that problem. LOL

I agree 100%!! I started storing my Ferrari there his second week in business and to date I am very impressed with absolutely everything: clean as a whistle shop, professional in all respects, available all the time, convenient and most importantly Mike gets it....he's a smart businessman and car guy. I was there last month switching out a car and there were not many spots left. Give him a call!
