Stunning! I am not a open top person, but after seeing this, I wanted to trade my 458 coupe for this!
Why can't I see this video? Grrrr! EDIT: Ah, for anyone who gets the 'not available' notice, go direct to Fifth Gear's website and it's there. God, she is SO ANNOYING!
Wow, what a great video. Thanks for posting. It's hard not to get excited as her enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. She's almost driven to the point of tears with sheer joy...and squeals with happiness as the car whips around the turns. I was almost as happy as she was just watching her have so much fun driving the car.
Thanks for posting that! Her enthusiasm comes across as genuine, and what she displays on the camera is what I feel inside as I tear up and down a mountain road ... I just don't make videos of myself doing so
Yes, enthousiasm. Terrible trait, that. Plus the fact that she's almost certainly a better driver than you. Onno
Wonder how this will affect regular 458 Italia and the California used prices? Perhaps may allow me to negotiate better deal in few years on my first F-car!
The 458 waiting lists are still very long, even in this economy. 458 spiders will be limited and start out at 30 grand more than the coupe. I don't see it effecting either much for those reasons. But, things change so you never really know.
I think this car will steal quite a few Italia sales. 30 grand is neither here nor there for a lot of people and if the changes to the styling are not an issue why wouldn't you? For all but the keenest of drivers this is the best of both worlds.
I certainly do have an idea. Vicky has serious, proven, driving credentials. So to better her, you would have to be very good. Maybe you are (and I did say "almost certainly she is better"). Even if you are better, that doesn't mean that she can't drive. I just think that it is refreshing to see a decent driving video with some proper enthousiasm. All this negativity is just sad. Onno
Vicki's reviews are fantastic , she has so much passion and driving skills , check hers other vids with the 360 cs and the nsx , Ferrari is all about passion and she really understands that . Cavallino rampante ..........
I think a lot of people in the US don't understand her. She's been an auto journalist for a long time -- well before 5th gear -- which she's been on for a long time itself. And, she's a pretty talented driver.
Err... I didn't say she couldn't drive. I said she was annoying. She was an instructor at one of the race days I've done at Silverstone and she can certainly drive. Done quite a few laps with her. But I do find her giddy school girl routine, which she does in just about every even mildly interesting car she drives, rather annoying. That's not negativity, it's just a straight up opinion. If you like it and see it as enthusiasm, that's fine.
Vicki has done several Ferrari reviews - 360 CS, F430 Challenge and California . She also had an opportunity to participate in a Ferrari F430 challenge event and placed well in two races, placing 2nd and 3rd. I like her.
