    Hi all,

Since Steve Pianteri's website seems no more running, I would like to know :

    - How to check a chassis number,

    - How to reach the "Registro Storico Fiat"

    - How to reach the "Jolly Ghia Club"

    - Anybody has any idea how many were built and how many are left (500 & 600).

    - Why the latest 600 models have a differnt (less "sculpted" body) and normal bumpers ?

Thanx from the French Riviera for your kind help.

Wish I could provide answers to your questions. Didn't know that Steve P's pages were all gone.

    Thanx !

I need to know if chassis # 618680 is a real Jolly.

Any mean of reaching both Club Jolly Fiat & Ghia Club ?

All I can tell you is that 618680 falls into the range of Fiat 600 chassis numbers produced in 1959. I don't know if Ghia gave the Jollys their own numbers, but they obviously had to start with a base 600 (or 500) and go from there.

I found an article here which suggests that Ghia built 440 Jolly's based on the 600, and 140 units based on the 500. Somehow I don't think that's correct.

The Malcolm Bobbitt book gives the following address for a Jolly club in Italy:

Piave Jolly Club, contact: Patrizia Capuzzo
Piazza Giustiniani 14, 31100 Treviso, Italy

The book was published in 1993, so this may be WAY out of date.

I suppose it would be possible to build a replica of the Jolly, but it would be very difficult to make the trim pieces that are unique to the Jolly, and I doubt if you could ever order them from stock.

    Thanx for the infos.

But I thought there were more 500 than 600 modified by Ghia ?

Just based on the number of ads for Jolly's that I have seen over the years, I would guess that there were at least 20 500-based units made by Ghia for every 600-based unit. But I could be totally wrong. Almost NEVER see a 600-based Jolly for sale here in the States. I know of ONE Multipla Jolly that was for sale over here, and it was an import from France, maybe 10-12 years ago? Kinda wish I had bought it, it wasn't expensive, but it was very rough.

I see in your profile that you have a Jolly - I'd love to see a picture!

My '59 600 jolly is #642102. All the 600's I have seen have #'s from the low 60000's to 72000's. Fiat sent batches of 10 (one truck load) whenever Ghia started running low. Fake Jolly's are easy to spot. The bumpers and side trim pieces are tough to fake. A good web site is coolbeachcars.com Here is my Jolly, with a Abarth 750 motor.

    Hello,
My site is still up. I still maintain the Registries for both Fiat Multipla and Jolly automobiles. I welcome your email to check VINs of these odd cars.

Before I heard that he owned one called the Eden Rock or Rok?) but when I talked to the owner of that at Monterey he didn't seem to confirm that. I am pretty sure his was built by Ghia, ironic because in 1969 Ford Motor Company bought Ghia so he may have been acquainted with Ghia through that little yacht tender car

In Italy there is a 500 Jolly club only.
