I thought I would give a three-year review on my FF. I purchased in April 2022 from a fellow F Chatter with 21k miles. It's a 2014. It now has just over 40k miles. I put off getting an FF for a few years and wish I had not. I have owned an F430 Spider, 458 Spider, and currently a 488 Spider. The 458 and 488 I owned at the same time as the FF, and I still have my 488. It is my favorite Ferrari. I love this car. I have driven the car in 110F and -10F weather. It rides on Michelin Sports All Seasons 4 year round. It conquered 12" snow falls, icy roads, and torrential rains. It seats four people with relative comfort.

Mechanical issues with Car. None of these were major. Indeed, some car owners would have ignored them and the car would have kept going (albeit, with problem eventually rearing its ugly head):

    1. Replace leaking rear shock.
    2. Very slight oil leak on PTU oil plug (bad ring). Replaced and serviced the PTU fluids while doing so. No PTU failure to date.
    3. Small leak on one pipe going into oil cooler. When changing oil on this car, you have to pull out these two pipes and empty them as they hold a decent amount of oil. Prior mechanic bent pipe when putting back on, leading to slight leak at connection point, replaced pipe.
    4. Sweet Jesus. I have replaced three of the four switches that control heat/cooling on the two front seats. Yeah, the fourth one is acting up now, and I am sure the others will start all over again. Unfortunately a common issue in these cars.
    5. That's it. Otherwise, regular service following factory schedule. Well, except that FFs require a new battery every three years. I put in a new Interstate AGM when I bought the car, and just replaced it with the same a month ago. The car will let you know when its time.

Cosmetic Issues. Again, these are all owner's choice here.

    1. Replaced or repaired all sticky buttons on dash, trim, etc. There were a lot of them.
    2. Re-finished the wheels.
    3. Replaced OEM head unit with Alpine with wireless CarPlay. This is a must. Improved sound drastically.
    4. Replace OEM bulbs with newer/brighter after market ones. Easy switch out. Huge difference. OEM headlights suck, period. Darn near dangerous.
    5. Replaced front PPF coverage.

Things I wish were a little better:

    1. I think the back end is a little too alive when going over uneven pavement at speed. Can be a little unnerving at first, but you get used to it.
    2. A little more refined ride and a more quite cabin would be nice. I know, I know, but I am getting old. The GT4 Lusso addresses these things, but some like the FF more because it is raw.
    3. Annoying squeaks from back seats at times.

This is a great car. I may swap it out for a newer GT4Lusso in a couple of years, BUT, part of me wants to rack up the miles on this thing over the next 5-6 years while keeping it pristine. But, l cannot see myself without a Ferrari shooting brake. Not sure if I have met an FF owner who did not like this thing. Most, like me, prefer it over their mid-engine sisters.

Best is to have both, but the V12 is hard to beat. I chose to keep my FF over the gated 360 and I don’t regret it.

My FF has cost me an arm and a leg (PTU repair, DCT sensors, various other electrical sensors, now radiator leak), but when the weather's nice there's very little that beats a V12 Ferrari. The 25k I've sunk into it and the depreciation is a bitter pill to swallow, but you only live once...

Nice write up. What is the color?

My experience with my 2015 is similar. I did have to replace a PTU oil line and also parking brake lines. Other than that, just standard maintanence, no squeaky rear seats.

Oh, I forgot, the headliner over the driver side sagged and had to have it re-applied.

I had these ready to go in when I did my battery last fall. But pulling them out of a drawer I dropped it, the case broke and the bulbs went flying. They didn’t break but I didn’t want to risk putting in damaged bulbs. Back to square one. Damn.
