First some background. I am on my second Ferrari, both mid-engine V8's with the current one being a 2009 F430 Scuderia. I love it and its "rawness". But I would say it is an "event" to drive it and would in now why be a car you use every day. My daily driver is a '14 Porsche Panamera GTS and it is the best car I have ever owned. The V8 N/A power along with the AWD, four doors (2 car seats in the back!), ability to carry golf clubs all the time and is an absolute tank in the snow makes it just a great car. Plus the Burmeister sound system is by far the best audio system I have ever heard in a car. I honestly thought that there would be nothing to make me get rid of it....

Fast forward to this weekend and my test drive of an FF (thank you Ferrari of Scottsdale!). Amazing. The sound and power of the V12 - I can still here it. The drive was great - highways, streets, parking lots...you name it I had a grin from ear to ear. Shifting was very smooth (especially coming from the single clutch SuperFast transmission of the Scud), handling was extremely responsive. The back fits car seats (although not as easy as a true 4-door). Fit and finish was good. Shutting doors closed softly and smoothly unlike the "thud" the F430 makes. My only concern is if a golf bag can fit in the back due to the length, especially the driver.

With a Range on its way into the garage, I may have to reconsider my thought of never getting rid of the Panamera and share time between the Range and an FF as a daily! It was that great of a car to drive. I was skeptical like everyone of the looks but in person it is really starting to grow on me. And again, that feeling of the Ferrari V12 is something that cannot be duplicated.

Those that daily (or close) an FF - thoughts/comments? Any tips or recommendations? Am I crazy here!?

It has been 3 days since the drive and I honestly have not stopped thinking about the car and using it in combination with the Range. I don't think I would be able to use just an FF as a true daily without the SUV at my disposal but with it I'm thinking it would be a great combination!

For those of you that have an FF/GTC - I see why!!!

I dont think you are crazy to daily an FF as long as you know your FF will lose a lot of value when you want to resell it. With that said, if you are fine with that, then it's a great way to start the day knowing you will drive a V12 Ferrari.

I never go into owning a car hoping to make (or not lose) money. The 2012-2014 prices on FF's are not bad ($120-150k). I don't think the depreciation will be that much greater than any other daily driven car. Heck I paid $135k on the Panamera, just hit 40,000 miles and it's worth in the $55k range.

I do agree with you - it would be fun waking up every day knowing there is a V12 Ferrari to drive to work!

I daily mine. It’s the best car I’ve ever had. I’m in love with it. The F12 barely gets driven.

I have “social” issues keeping me from making it a daily.

But as a car there is no reason not to.

    Exactly.
My S8 Plus was $155k (paid sticker as it was one of the earliest cars in country and it was a special order), now with 30k miles it is worth about $55k wholesale.
I expect to lose on my wife's Lusso but compared to Audi the loss will be a lot smaller (percentage wise in equal 2 years).

Given that my daily is a debadged AMG GL63 I don’t think I can make fun of much for depreciation!

Mine is a DD. I don’t play golf, but it hauls all my gear to races & serves as my winter car with snow tires. I’ve used just about everything as a DD, including Porsches, Audis, Range Rover, a Bentley, etc. The FF is hands-down my favorite and gives the most mundane errand run a sense of occasion. Life is short. Go for it if you’re smitten.

The FF/Lusso are such great cars. They make room for themselves in any garage (assuming funds allow). You can't believe how much you can fit into the thing either.

Don't want to worry about depreciation? LEASE!! Lease a new GTC4/Lusso. Ferrari dealers are in the mood to lease them.

@unogib You can fit golf clubs!

Totally support anyone to drive an FF on a daily basis. This may be blasphemous, but we've even tested how the AWD handles in the snow. Truly impressive.

Yup, life is short so drive it and enjoy it! Mileage and depreciation wouldn't be part of our thoughts when we are on our deathbed. ;)

Thank you everyone for the responses! 4 days later and I still cannot stop thinking about that V12! I guess my search begins!!!

Question - I am assuming the FF can allow for the exhaust controller like the F430? Would love the ability to make the lower RPM range sound louder on occasion.

I have a Capristo exhaust remote on the F12, but chose to simply pin the exhaust valves open on the FF and 488 GTB. Honestly not loud at all, especially with FF windows up (sound insulation and double paned glass).

Good luck with your hunt! [emoji41]

Yes u can do it that way or get a novitec ECU and control the settings from steering wheel. For mine I did always open on sport/race and oem setting on comfort.

That makes sense. I always leave it on Sport on the FF and Race on other models.

Also I have a full novitec so my car is f1 like when the valves are open. When the they're closed you can't tell the car has an exhaust and I can have a Bluetooth conversation no problem.

Doing Novitec (exhaust + xpipe + remote) for my Lusso, think I might be the first one at our dealership. Can't wait to hear the results!

Why not do the ECU if they have it - then u don't need the remote.

Oh I wasn't even aware of that. ECU would be preferred, will ask them. Waiting for them to get back to me on pricing.

Well after reading so many great reviews on this site, I don't see how I couldn't get one!
