Current 2013 458 Spider owner (awesome bullet proof car) and am considering an FF as a daily. I am looking at a 2015 FF with 59k miles on it. Clean Carfax, Carfax reflects all on-time services being done at Ferrari dealership in Philly. Photos look spotless. https://www.cosmomotorsonline.com/details-2015-ferrari-ff-2dr_hatchback-used-zff73ska8f0204207.html I think these cars can run forever if taken car of. Thoughts or concerns on higher mileage FFs?
Seems like their website is down so I can't comment on the car itself. Don’t bother with the warranty. And there’s no correlation between mileage and point of PTU failure if you’re unlucky enough to experience that. The cars can take the mileage so go for it if the price is right and it’s a spec you want.
I think that car has been at the dealer for at least month (probably 2-3 if memory serves me right). So at the bare minimum I’d do a PPI and check the seals for leaks as these engines don’t like to sit for extended periods of time and replacing the seals is an expensive job.
Appears early 15. Low spec car with high miles. Service records? Where has it been serviced ? And the others asked the right questions. PTU can be expensive. Mine was a 12 and I did it under warranty. Personally I would do a new power for the first two years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The cost of new power for the first two years will pay for a PTU repair if you’re unlucky enough to suffer one. Ditto a DCT rebuild. There is so much which NP doesn’t cover that it’s really not worth it these days as the availability of affordable repairs is so much better than 5 years ago.
the mileage doesn't bother me as long as it had regular fluid changes. if i were in the market, the only thing that would sway me away from this car would be that it's a low spec car. it's little ironic because i never cared about interior bits as long as the power terrain was fine. but for GT ferrari, i think having the nicer interior makes a difference.
Depends on the country you live in. Just FWIW, I live in the U.K. 14 FF with 30K that I have just decided not to renew the warranty on. Very reasonable PTU FIX - not repair available over here.
I have 53k miles on my 2012 FF. I purchased in 2019 with 28k. I have the powertrain warranty that covered a $15k DCT repair at 32k miles. The powertrain warranty is not available after 56k miles. I haven't had any problems since Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
I don't think the buyer (imo) should consider buying NP unless you absolutely relish peace of mind. At 7k a year the worst thing that could happen to your car will cost the price of that warranty for 2 years, only for you it's a sunk cost and if it happens a month after you'll be surely miffed. 1) it's low spec but newer and priced near the bottom because of the miles. If the PPI came clean and you're ok with the lower spec then I'd try and haggle a bit and get your best price. Cars that are driven a lot tend to have less problems. 2) the lack of passenger display will always look like the ultimate button blank, how Ferrari didn't make a clean dash with no cut out for non passenger display cars, beyond me. I think spec matters in this car, especially vehicle lift and passenger display but again that's just my opinion
I like the spec, especially the color. Mileage doesn’t bother me necessarily as well. Also, I probably will not get the warranty because I have the means if necessary to cover any major repair. I liked how the entire service history was complete and all done at a Ferrari dealership under the surface warranty. And, certainly will have a PPI done.
I generally don’t trust these third party exotic dealers, much rather buy private party. Def get a PPI, you may find $10-20k work to be done. When I bought a high mileage CPO FF they had about $17k in repairs to do just to bring it up to CPO standards.
