To Claudia, Courtney and the rest of the "Winery Team" ... Great job guys!!!! I know it was hard this year due to all the unforeseen circumstances, but you all put a wonderful program together. We were busy, but still had time to meet and get to know our fellow participants. Mr. Holman was extremely entertaining, the food, wine and camaraderie were all excellent. We loved the F1 videos as well. thanks ... Bob
Claudia" You and the rest of the Williamsburg Winery Team did a remarkable job. Kathie and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The combination of elegant food, extraordinary wines, Ferraris, and our opportunities to play with them, made for a most memorable weekend. Bravo! And I still owe you a ride in my 328. I wholeheartedly concur! Excellent job!! This event is something so unique to the area, and it has been a great time both years I have attended. I'm glad I could offer a little more this year! It was a pleasure putting faces with forum names, too; good to meet you all! Loved the Turkey sandwich.
some of my photos from Saturday's events. I'll post more when I get the chance to edit them. What a fun day at the Air Museum and autocross, and a thank you to Matt Kasap for taking me for a few hot laps in his F430! What a great time this weekend! A big "thank you", to the folks from The Williamsburg Winery, The Duffeler family, Claudia Rinaldi, Courtney and Matthew for hosting a wonderful event and of course a special thanks to Lee Holman from Holman and Moody for sharing his knowledge and history of the Ford GT 40. I have additional photos to post later on. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you all who either spent the weekend with us, or just came for a day (Tripp, Nick C., Michael M...)! I agree, this was a fabulous weekend, and again this year, I miss you all... The Duffelers also extend their gratitude, and want you all to know that YOU make the event what it is. We look forward to planning for next year, and will keep you posted on our progress. Hope to see you all before the end of April 2012! Best regards, Claudia PS - I'll let you know when photos are available to download.
What an incredible weekend! It was a real treat seeing all of those amazing machines flying down the interstate and parked in many picturesque locales! I'm glad everyone that made it had such a great time. Congrats and thanks to Claudia and the Winery staff on putting on such an enjoyable event! Thanks also to people that made the event great in the past, it couldn't have happened without you.
What a wonderful way to spend a weekend! Great food and wine and friends. Here are a few more pictures of: - a red Boxer in the rear-view mirror. - the computer in my car telling me to "slow down" with a dash message. - getting in line to try my hand at autocross. . LOL. yes, it wasn't very smooth, for sure. I'd get the car spun up and really accelerating only to immediately get on the brakes for the next pylon. It would be easier to do with a stick-shift, I think. Supposedly a few folks in the audience took some digital video of it. That should make for some entertaining/embarrassing youtube clips.
When I drove the autocross course in my 328 I found it easier to just leave it in 2nd for the whole run. Of course, I quickly discovered that my car was better than I was. Here are a couple of photos. JAF Life is good; it's better if you are driving a Ferrari.
Joe, here's pic of you about to attack the course in your 328. It was a lot of fun, wasn't it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Ron, I was on Flickr browsing and saw some pictures of that event. Check these pictures out, not sure if the person post the pictures here already or not though; http://www.flickr.com/photos/58853535@N03/5682491770/in/photostream
Thanks for the photo, Ron. I do look seriously fierce, don't I? JAF Life is good; it's better if you are driving a Ferrari.
Ron: Kathie loved the photo. Would you be kind enough to send it to me via email? The edress is [email protected]. Thanks. JAF Life is good; it's better if you are driving a Ferrari.
