I just learned about this car- the Jensen FF was the precursor to the Ferrari FF- both have the same name, 4 wheel drive, 4 seats, high powered motor, and same sort of "styling"...

If you call 325HP ( gross) high power, I guess that qualifies the Jensen.

Kinda slow, slow, slow. 0 -60 in 8.0 sec

    Ferguson Four, ( FF),

Don't judge that car in today's reality.
Back in late 60's it was supercar like performance........

In the 1966-1971 period, 325 hp was serious stuff.

The Daytona was, IIRC, the fastest road car in the world back then and I don't think it made much over 350 hp (??)

Agree. '71 365 GT 2+2 made 320HP and got to 60 in 7.3 seconds. That's slightly quicker than a Toyota today.

If that's all it took, someone would've made an FF a long time ago. I seriously doubt Maranello even knows about this thing. Besides, Ferrari have a rich 2+2 tradition to draw from without reference to a Ferguson.

It seems clear the FF is based on the requests of clients and the abilities of today's software, and to a lesser degree the success of Bentley's 4wd. As such it's groundbreaking, for Ferrari and everyone else.

The styling is new and gorgeous. An argument could be made for the Z4 coupe being similar but as I've said elsewhere, BMW couldn't Bangle a FF if they had 10 years and an unlimited budget.

The JENSEN factory were among the first to experiment with Anti Blocking Servo assisted brakes (ABS today). They had a fully mechanical system working, beeing offered as a regular option on their '67 - '71 years models, as far as I recall.

A Danish driving school instructor had a Jensen restored, he told me that regular variation in measures were plus minus 6 inches, in lengths, and distance between axles. Just to accomodate the different buyers bodily dimensions, :).

    ciao, s.
