Big update for the AF Corse cars (can we call it EVO?) Vallelunga photo Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I read yesterday that AF Corse is not surprisingly coming with two brand new cars. Last year's #71 car was sold to the Clearwater Racing GTAM team while the #51 car remains yet to be allowcated. For their livery, they're also using the original Ferrari Barchetta red color to commemorate Ferrari's 70th Anniversary. The original red Ferrari used in the early days was thought by many to look "too much like blood" and coming soon after WWII, Ferrari was requested to change it to the more familiar lighter shade of red. A friend of mine from the FCA in the early 00's had a Barchetta red 360 Modena and it was really spectacular in the rare color. BHW Image Unavailable, Please Login

What your are talking about is "ox blood" red used by pre-war Alfas and early Ferrari, against "scarlet" red. I much prefer ox blood red, it looks like wine!! But I don't think it would look so nice on modern Ferrari's; I don't even know if you can order one in that colour.

I still don´t get why AF Corse has SMP Racing sponsorship. Are they running a car for them somewhere?
